Question about the play where Prater lined up as WR and cost the Cowboys a TO: I have only seen it once life yesterday, so I don't know the whole design of the play, but do you think there is even a possibility that we snap it if we get a certain look or is it just designed to confuse the other team and trick them into taking a TO? I mean I guess there wasn't any real risk involved with it, because I don't think we would take a TO there if it doesn't work and instead take the delay of game to make it a 31 yard FG instead of a 26 yarder.
Considering AZ faked a punt earlier in the game, from the Dallas perspective, I would have called a time out as well to be sure not to get fooled again. Going into the game McCarthy mentioned AZ would use special teams more so than other opponents, so they knew that it was possible, yet they still got worked on 2 occasions. A lot of people in Dallas are blaming McCarthy for blowing the timeout and not being able to challenge the fumble late, but I think he made the right decision considering they weren’t ready to defend that play. For me I would be more upset that they blew their timeouts late because they were either not prepared or were ill equipped to defend Kyler running the option play with the RB.

Run it out with a suddenly active KM on the ground. This was a final drive gut check win that we NEED from our QB. So stoked to see it. All the momentum turning against us. We could all see the set up for the Boys to come back and steal the win. KM willed it not to happen. EXACTLY what we have all be begging for.
This was hugely important to see from KM. Good work from him on that last drive. Sliding in-bounds is actually a big improvement!

I just took a look at it again and man, if they allow us to snap that ball, Green was completely uncovered. I mean there was nobody even 20 yards close to him, I think I could have walked that in for a TD.
It’s interesting that AZ really dominated special teams. Dallas had done so well in the department most of the season and yesterday you can make the case that special teams was where the game was won and lost. Something to keep in mind for the rematch if it happens. Knowing their coaching staff, Dallas will undoubtedly try some tricks.

AJ Green was completely alone on the left side. I think if there was a blown coverage or matchup that was really in our favor we would've snapped it.

I am glad we didn't wait til his last year to find out a use for him.

While I think Zaven can be good at OLB they certainly didn't pick him for that position. So it would be concerning if after less than a year they are changing his position (but also peak Cards).

I look forward to 3 years of mediocre OLB play before they move him back to ILB.

He can be inverted Haason Reddick.

Dallas Cowboys not pleased with officials after loss to Arizona Cardinals: 'Wouldn't let us get a rhythm'

A couple of the Dallas Cowboys felt they played against two opponents Sunday: the Arizona Cardinals and the officials.

The Cowboys lost to the Cardinals 25-22, injuring their playoff seeding, and were flagged 10 times for 88 yards by Scott Novak's crew, including four offensive holding penalties that negated two first-down runs.

"It's just we couldn't get a rhythm," wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said. "The refs wouldn't let us get a rhythm."

Added defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence: "I'm gonna let the NFL handle that. I know it's a possibility we see both of these teams in the playoffs. You know hopefully the NFL can sit down with their team, review the film, learn from their mistakes and get better from it."

Now they know how we feel

How many times has this happened to us?
Emotionally immature - refs are here to stay; no point in always whining about them.

Chances are we play this game again in the wildcard round.

Cards have a 77% chance of finishing 5th and Cowboys 93% of being 4th.

I'm not a fan of playing teams you beat narrowly very recently. All that recent tape and its still fresh. But of the available options Cowboys on the road is probably best.

I think we can claim the #2 seed and play the Eagles at home if we win the division, but I might prefer Dallas.

Kept your seat on the Rational Optimists bus for you man. Please come back. (You're still sitting next to @Chris_Sanders).

This is peak rational!

When we drafted him I argued it should be for OLB. He has elite traits for the position.

But they clearly drafted him for ILB so it would be concerning if they are moving him after 9 months.

Me or the Cowboys?

I'm not a complain about the refs kind of guy

We have been on the bad end of many calls, but there are other ways to win the game which we didn't do that factor into the loss

Just pointing out that they are complaining now when they usually get the benefit of the doubt

Also how about the play where we tried a screen to the left to Edmonds, the lineman grabbed and held him so he couldn't get out there. Kyler just threw the ball at the feed of Edmonds and then they called lineman downfield illegally on us. He was, because he hadn't planned on them grabbing and holding up Edmonds so he left early

I don’t think the cowboys players should be blaming the refs for the loss. I think they played poorly for three quarters. Amare cooper had a much better take and blamed the offense for starting the game poorly. They dropped what should of been an easy interception in the end zone, ref didn’t do that to them. The defense was not prepared for the the Kyler Murray option play at the end when AZ killed the clock on them. And they never really adjusted to stop it. That’s Kyler killing them, not the ref. Cowboys defense played ok not great and the only gripe they really have is the refs missed a clear fumble and recovery at the end. For me anyone has every right to complain about something like that being missed. AZ fans and players should do the same if it were on the other foot, with that said Dallas lost to AZ, not the refs.
If they did review it Edmonds was out of bounds touching the ball anyway. You say don’t blame the refs but then you blame them. Get over it. Cardinals ran out the clock and Cowboys couldn’t stop them.

Chase absolutely fumbled the ball, but he was still touching the ball as he rolled out of bounds.
