Cardinals activate Maxx Williams from IR, release Jordan Thomas

The Cardinals activated tight end Maxx Williams from injured reserve Saturday, the team announced.

Williams went on injured reserve with an ankle injury Sept. 21. He returned to practice this week.

He played 43 snaps in the season opener before being inactive for the Week 2 game.

The Cardinals released tight end Jordan Thomas in a corresponding move. Thomas played four games for Arizona, catching one pass for a 3-yard touchdown against the Panthers in Week 4.

The team also announced it elevated running back D.J. Foster and cornerback Jace Whittaker to the active roster from the practice squad as COVID-19 replacements.

The Cardinals also promoted defensive lineman Michael Dogbe to the active roster from the practice squad as a standard elevation. He will revert to the practice squad Monday.

Admittedly I never foresaw former Sun Devil D.J. Foster beating out another Arizona State product Eno Benjamin for playing time. I always thought Benjamin was the better running back.

Come on Cardinals. Let's get our 6th win.

I hope Maxx brings the nasty to the run game.

It’s time for the cardinals to reach in that locker and pull out a good old can of whoop ass and open it up on the dolphins.

I can’t see a heavy dose of running with the load falling on Edmonds.

Open up throwing with Kyler focused on open running lanes.

KM runs for 100 yards and Edmonds 100+ all purpose.

Use MAXX as much as possible as he catches well.

Finally, rarely do I have an accurate glimpse into the future.

If we win today and the Bills beat the Seahawks we will hold the #1 seed

At least until the Bucs play

yes. The Dolphins arent good (stat wise at least) against the run

an under looked aspect of the SEA game was that they had an answer for most of the game for the Cards zone read run scheme

Det was bad as well, and they figured out how to mitigate

if the Cards run well, i think they win going away

Posted this in the pregame thread, but I think it should be brought up again.

If Miami wins this game our records would be tied at 5-3.

We can not take them lightly.

It's a must win IMO so we can be contenders and not pretenders.
