This is exactly how I have been feeling about the whole coaching carousel for a couple days now. They are going to wait until their only choice is Bettcher and claim he was "The Guy" all along. Most of the current staff will also stay put with Amos possibly staying too. Sad sad commentary to say the least.

What exactly should the Cards be doing right now? If their guy is still in the playoffs they can't do anything. Everyone is ''omg we need to sign someone quick or we'll miss out.'' ''Same ol Cards sitting on their hands waiting for everyone else to choose before they make their decision.'' The top guys on their list are still in the playoffs. Not a damn thing we or anyone else can do until they are out.

I hope Michael's people get him your suggestion. If the Cards could get DeFilippo what would you think of Kurt Warner as a QB coach? especially with a QBOF....Has Warner ever shown an interest in coaching?

Right, but how do the Lions get an agreement done with Patricia? Obviously there are ways (unofficial ways).

I’m curious how the giants have a better roster than the cards.

Both have no QBOTF.
Both have Bad olines
Giants have OBJ
Cards have David Johnson
Cards have two premier playmakers on d in PP and chandler jones - giants have no one on their d matching their credentials

Giants finished season considerably worse than cards.

I don’t see it Mitch.

How do you know for sure that they do? I think a lot of misinformation is out there right now. Similar to the draft. By the rules the Lions can not have an agreement. Lot's of reporters want to have the ''scoop'' so they speculate & hope they are right.

Not to mention a broken clubhouse to boot.

Id add this: the Cards best offensive player, David Johnson, seems to be a solid person

the Giants best offensive player, OBJ, is............... a bit out there behavior wise

the Giants may have a far more direct path to QBOF -- but thats it

Didn't Raiders pull the same stunt with Gruden 10 days ago? It is in the realm of possibility the terms were agreed upon on the back of a tissue paper

Based on the rules, the Titans would now have to wait for the Vikings to be eliminated from the playoffs, to even request and schedule a first interview. They are behind the proverbial 8 ball, regarding coaching candidates that are on teams still playing.

Pretty sure they can interview the week after the conference championship because of the two week break. I recall McDaniels doing that when he went to Denver.

Get Munchak on that private plane now, drag Haley into it. On the way, stop at Dick labeau's place and request him to board the plane. Bring Bettcher into the facility before they arrive. Act like you are interviewing. Sign the band at Steak 44 tonight. No delays.

Giants closing the deal on Shurmur. This is like free agency---the top ones go fast. No time for aded "let's get to know you better" visits. You have to know who you want and go full speed ahead.

what makes you think the giants are closing a deal?

all I have seen is a bunch of people speculating based on a politically correct business answer that Shurmur made in regards to the giants interview going well.

which is the answer anybody would give if they want to keep their possibilities open.

its all purely speculation. The giants have not closed any deals with anybody

If NFL.com is reporting it it's done.

They put their cards on the table, which they are allowed to do. Shurmur said he felt a strong connection with them during his interview. He knows that he's their top choice now. Now he can just go ahead and game plan for Philly w/o any more distractions.

But requests for new interviews had to be made earlier. No new request can be made now, until team is eliminated.

I don’t quite agree.

Bowles supposedly had the choice of NY Jets, with no offense in place and a history of ineptitude, and the Atlanta Falcons, with Matt Ryan and a decent offense, but a defense that needed retooling. He chose the poo job.

It’s easy to say that Bidwill is doing something wrong relative to the others, but it’s a family business and he has a responsibility to make the best choice he can following the methods that are most successful for him and their business. The coaches all have reasons for making their choices as well, and using Bowles as a reference, we don’t REALLY know why they make the choices they do, but it is certainly for more complex than we realize.

Whaaaaaaaaat? Falcons handed the job to Quinn. Bowles wanted the Falcons job but didn't get it.
