McCoy is terrible, let the Browns keep him and take Weeden off their hands and throw in a draft pick.......

You trade for McCoy if you are planning on cutting Kolb. If not, why waste the resources it will take to get him. Also, it is really late in the game to try and acquire a starter (learning the offense and all) so anyone brought in would sit behind Skelton who was can all agree is not going anywhere. Interesting, and I could see the move happening if Kolb bombs in the Oakland game.

Friday will be very interesting to say the least.

I personally think Colt is better than Kolb and can actually be a winner in this league in the right system and talent. Could that be with us? Maybe. We have the offensive weapons.

It also helps me to know his Dad and that they are a wonderful family. So seeing Colt playing for us would be nice for me at least.

I would like to know if it is a possibility Kolb gets cut? From my understanding the big part of the contract was the signing bonus and the bonus they paid him after Peyton chose Denver. Whats his salary this year? Anyone know?

If they trade for him, Kolb has to be gone. There is no way they make another move for another QB and keep Kolb on this roster.

To talk about the topic, tho I don't think the Cardinals are going to trade for a QB, even though I think it is a good idea.

Anyway here is who I like in order of preference:

- Matt Moore
- Colt McCoy
- Tavarris Jackson

I appreciate what you're saying RM, but all three of those guys all had a chance at starting on teams with little/weak to no competition and all three proved they are not starting caliber QBs. If a dude can't cut it in Cleveland, Minny, Seattle, Carolina and Miami no way should he be on the roster. The Cardinals already have three backup QBs.

It'd be interesting to see a scrambler like Jackson play behind it. He might be able to successfully extend the plays that Kolb can't. I wouldn't mind sending a 6th or 7th for him--he's more experienced, more mobile and just as accurate as what we have.

Seattle wouldn't trade him to a division rival though.

Although I don't think he is a very good QB.

Bringing in a subpar QB this late in the game doesn't make much sense. Pure speculation by the "Eye on Football Staff".

Nooooooooo.......................

If, hypothetically, McCoy and Skelton were both cut, teams would snatch Skelton up long before they kicked Colt's tires. Probably Kolb too. So that alone tells me we already have a better option on our roster.

McCoy peaked in college, just like Max Hall.

If they are going to cut Kolb, starting Skelton while McCoy learnes the system and Lindley develops is not the worst idea in the world. If Skelton doesn't show improvement, then give McCoy a shot mid-season. Of course, then the Cards are sending away a draft pick after cutting a player they just paid a roster bonus to (and for whom they packaged a previous draft pick). That does look bad.

They already paid the $7M, why cut Kolb when he could be an insurance policy even if he were 3rd string.

At this point I would try anyone.

How about we just try Skelton.

Skelton and Lindley are all we need at Qb. Kolb is too weak, too scared and too injury prone to ever be a top 25 NFL QB.

Skelton on the other hand has all the attributes you want in a Qb that will kick serious tail in year 5,6,7.

There is no way this happens. Bringing in another (below average) QB this close to the opening game would be pointless.

If they dumped Kolb instead of paying his bonus back in march and then considered one of these guys it would have been a viable option.

They wont carry 4 QBs, they wont cut Lindley or Skelton and I dont see how they can cut Kolb until the year is over, unless they are fortunate enough to find an excuse to IR him and then dont have to count him on the cap.

I see the signs.......do you? 5-11 at best. It is going to be one ugly season for us fans. By half way through the season we will be bringing out the "let's hope we lose so we can get a higher draft pick" conversations, maybe even sooner. I blame both Fitz (indirectly) and Whiz (directly) for where we find ourselves this season.

FCS - Go Cards.

That is why we are going to make him play for an extended time against the Raiders, no way the dude will survive four quarters without giving us an IR option. Seriously, Kolb is a great guy and tries really hard, but being a starting QB in the NFL also requires that one is good enough and tough enough.

The only way to stop this rumor insanity is for Kolb &/or Skelton to step up and do the job. That would shut everyone up. Otherwise, we just have to grit our teeth.

Bring back Jeff Blake!

From all reports over the past two preseason games, that's what Skelton's done. Nobody is crying out that he's the savior at the position, but he has clearly outperformed Kolb thus far.

Yep... Kolb continues to get by based on the contract and $$ that were directed his way. There is no doubt the Cards are on bended knee, praying that he somehow FINALLY gets right, as, should he provem a failure, it's yet another QB debacle at the feet of this franchise...

Cowherd reported from a "very trusted internal source", that the word on Kolb is that his heart just isn't in it. Football just isn't that important to him.
If this is true, how did the Cards not pick this up before backing the dump-truck filled with cash at his feet?? :bang:

Either way, unless Kolb does his best Matt Leinart impersonation and throws the team and coaches under the bus in the media, he will be on the roster this season.

Are you sayin it is time to "ride or die"?
