From all reports over the past two preseason games, that's what Skelton's done. Nobody is crying out that he's the savior at the position, but he has clearly outperformed Kolb thus far.
You may be right, but part of Skelton's job is political.

He has to be perceived by a majority of fans as getting the job done.

I'm not unhappy (nor am I overwhelmed) by his preseason play, but I think he'll have to do a bit more to win over most fans.

Granted, but compared to Kolb, he's been solid. Since it's a QB competition, I think it's clear to everyone who has earned the starting nod. I think it would take a miracle for Kolb to 'win' this job now. That doesn't mean the team won't just hand him the job, but he's been outplayed for certain.

Oh fiddle sticks, with Skelton or Kolb, or Lindley might be the answer (though we will all cloak that with "I'm not saying he is a starter" because we ourselves know that is exactly what every fan ends up saying, with a team where the position is not clearly known and there is someone new without any bruises to pick). Rumors have Colt McCoy on the radar and some say "Oh look, Plummer II". I have the solution, let's bring back the real Jake Plummer. He can warm up playing ping pong. His hot ex cheerleader wife can be in the stands and sadly at his age...probably still better than what we have now lol

Yep... Kolb continues to get by based on the contract and $$ that were directed his way. There is no doubt the Cards are on bended knee, praying that he somehow FINALLY gets right, as, should he provem a failure, it's yet another QB debacle at the feet of this franchise...

Cowherd reported from a "very trusted internal source", that the word on Kolb is that his heart just isn't in it. Football just isn't that important to him.
If this is true, how did the Cards not pick this up before backing the dump-truck filled with cash at his feet?? :bang:

That's a worst case scenario for Kolb supporters.

Sigh... It looks like OAK might be the last stand for my boy KK, and that in a couple of weeks, I might be hat in hand, humbly asking for a spot on the Skelton bandwagon.

Just watching Kolb you can see his heart isn't in it. Seems he can't wait to get off the field.

Bringing in a subpar QB this late in the game doesn't make much sense. Pure speculation by the "Eye on Football Staff".
Agree... this appears to be nothing but fabricated news. Since Cardinals are unsure about QB situation, abc threw in Arizona for potential place. It does not make sense.

Also agree that Friday is do or die for Kolb. If he struggles, he is done here.

Conspiracy theory: Since Kolb has already made enough money without performing on the field, and with his concussion history, he is tanking it to either be relegated to clip board holding or be cut and possibly retire. :)

Kolb was definitley more into it last year. Maybe the concussion issues and how long it took him to recover has made him think that it's not worth it anymore. He has the money so maybe now he's thinking get out while I'm healthy. Leinart was never the same after his shoulder injury and head injuries are alot more serious. Maybe there is something to that.

I could see him being cut and McCoy being brought in to be a backup. Cleveland was rumored to like Kolb, maybe just swap the 2. I would be ok going with Skelton and McCoy. McCoy was very respected by his teammates in Cleveland with the way he took the abuse from his OC and coaching staff during his rookie year. That's all good but he'd still have to perform on the field though.

Seattle wouldn't trade him to a division rival though.

Although I don't think he is a very good QB.
I think he stinks too. Seattle should be happy if a division rival wants him.

I've never been a Colt McCoy fan (I always felt he was overhyped with a name created by Central Casting).

If I were to write a football novel centered around a character similar to McCoy, I'd definitely have a weasely agent planting a story with the media that the Cards were were interested in trading for the Coltster.

Just sayin'.

So Skelton has outperformed Kolb so far. Big deal!

Anderson outperformed Skelton in the preseason that got him the starting job, and Leinart looked like the second coming of Kenny Stabler compared to Kolb, back then.

Things at QB better pick up dramatically in the next 3 weeks.

Kolb would be 3rd string in Cleveland too. He makes too much to justify as a backup. They'd have to be on bath salts to take him in a trade.

As for Kolb's attitude; I dont think he handles pressure well and we've seen that manifest itself in several ways. In close games, or when the defense is coming after him... Kolb is folding up like a lawn chair in the pressure of a QB competition.

If it were just about the fear of taking a hit and getting a concussion then I dont think he would be out there at all.
