I agree with you on our needs but who's out there? Plus, as Donald pointed out, how much trouble this gives to other teams defenses can't be understated.

see my post below.

also, Hous is a decent WR... we already have that. dude's not a difference make out there, especially with the trainwrecks we have at QB.

TJ's an aging possession WR. Not gonna give D's that many fits to be quite honest.

Anquan is an aging possession receiver too. Just tougher and more yac.

It isn't my money they might be spending. I don't care how they work salary if they WANT to do this.

short-sighted thinking at it's worst. You know Houz ain't on a one year deal, right? His contract has ramifications past this year and that money either needs to go to extending Fitz, DRC or horded so we can upgrade positions in the future that desperately need to be upgraded.

if we were a WR away from really contending, you know I'd be ALL OVER the move... but we're not. we're fairly set at WR and still no where near contending, thus this move does nothing for me but waste the Bidwills money that should be spent elsewhere and wouldn't be IMO.

Do you think Whis thinks we are close to contending? Do you think he might think the move would be a lock on the NFC west?

If he wants it..we gets it. With DA, I'd very much welcome another sure handed WR on the roster like TJ. Absolutely might be the difference.

Anquan is younger than TJ by like 3 or 4 years IIRC. Plus he's just better. Like whats been said may as well have kept him and forced him to play out his contract.

.... and we wouldn't have had two picks that were instrumental in getting Rhodes, and moving up to get Washington.

Can't throw that kind of cheddar @ a receiver who is well past his prime.(Seattle won't) Go get some more talent at LB & O line.

So what are the contract details?

All in know at this point is that Seattle is on the hook this year for $7.5M minus whatever another team pays. The team that is willing to pay the most $1.5M, $2.5M, etc. will get him.

If Whiz believes an extra good pair of hands can be the difference between making the playoffs or not, I'm for it.

As for hording $$$ for Fitz, etc. - Do you actually think that Whiz and the FO would make a decision in this case which could jeopardize key signings?

Here's the best part:

His Seahawks contract includes offset language that makes Seattle liable to pay Houshmanzadeh whatever his new team doesn't.
So if Houshmanzadeh were to sign a veteran minimum deal of $850,000, the Seahawks would be liable for the remaining $6.15 million balance.
Seattle signed Houshmanzadeh to a five-year, $40 million contract last offseason, and Seattle will wind up having paid him $15 million for his one season with the Seahawks.

Why not make them pay.......literally!

I don't get it at all. Cards traded Corrick for Scott and promptly cut him...didn't understand that either

For either player to be moved , both player's would have to rip up their current contracts.

The problem with Housh is the Seahawks ( I believe) are on the hook for his bonus paid so they won't be gaining much by cutting him. The Cards would be dumping Leinart and saving money. What I'm saying is I don't think trade could be worked out without some renegotiating taking place.

Why would the Cards trade for a guy with a huge salary when they know Seattle may just cut him? It's the same problem the Cards face with Leinart.

No way we make this move!!! We are loaded at WR & this report is total BS!!! Don't see it & don't buy it. I guess when this site reports Warner is coming back from his Dancing with the Stars time you guys will believe that too. 0% chance TJ wears a Redbird jersey!!!

That is only if he is cut, not traded.

It is why they are desperate to trade him and not release him. It is why so many teams names are thrown out there because Seattle is probably throwing them out there to drum up as much interest as possible.

Now it all makes sense. I couldn't figure out why they weren't able to trade him.

Houshmandzadeh is great at catching bullets from 4 yards out so it makes sense.

Who's leaking from within the front office?

Cards have been mentioned in Leinart trade rumors and now Housh.

That's never been our MO.

Why now? Is it agents with loose-lips? Or is possibly front-office posturing with Leinart and his agent (i.e. "If that's what you want, we'll shop you, and if you don't think so, check out this story about the Cards and Housh.").

I still don't think it happens - Why trade within our division? Why trade to strengthen an already overloaded receiving corps?

I don't buy this line of thinking. If "Wiz wants he gets it" is true then the team would have signed Marc Bulger instead of being told to work with what we've got. Somers has said a couple times this month that Wiz and his staff wanted to go that way but the FO wouldn't spend the money.

this smells like a FO office move to me. one that makes very little sense.
