Was Panthers' 2nd Round pick in 2012, pick #40. Big, powerful guard (6-4, 311, Midwestern St.) who has torn both ACLs since entering the NFL. Last year he was the starting LG for the first 9 games, before injuring his ACL in November. Could be a low risk, high reward acquisition if he is ready for TC.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel now. Let's sign a bargain basement G who is just coming off ACL tear 4.5 months ago.

Bottom of the barrel-----------??? This guy was a starting guard on a team that not only played in the SB, but was un-defeated for nearly the whole season. This sure looks like the probability of low risk/high reward to me. Torn ACL's are common among O-linemen. Some of the best of them have suffered multiple ACL tears and have gone on to become great. This signing, (if it happens), looks to me to be yet another example of Keim's diligence in screening prospective standouts and picking them up for below market value.

Thats typical Kiem trying to bring in talented players on a bargin price because of a down injured season trying to strike gold. I like it. Although Weatherspoon was a Miss lol.

I also heard he was bringing in this guy. Also injured but Schefter said it was just a flesh wound.

This could be a very good signing for us. The guy has talent for sure. Can do a good job as a starter to. Even if he doesn't start he's a good backup so if we get him for a decent contract with incentives for starting I see plenty upside bringing him in.

I am not surprised in the least. IF, and that is a big IF, this kid stays healthy, we will have two beastly guards in the run game.

This would not be a depth signing. He would be the starting right guard.

I call this the Mark Prior argument, and Cubs fans did it for a decade. "If this guy who is never healthy stays healthy, we're gonna be great!"

He blew an ACL in college too. I'm all for signing the guy if he's cheap but this is hardly anything to get excited about.

Hopefully this guy can follow the path of Thomas Davis and Frank Gore!

If we didn't have another option at RG, I can see this argument. If it is a sign and stash on the IR until he is recovered, I don't really see the downside unless he wants more money than I believe we would offer. Prior's issue was the team still counted on him to be their ace, instead operating as if he wouldn't play.

Gotta love his attitude to stay in the game. Plays through routine dings and injuries; You can count on him to give everything he has got!

Sign a low risk three year contract. Insurance in case Cooper is truly a bust. He'll be out until Sept. and then backup until he is 100%. Then we'll know if we got a cheap starter or a solid backup. It is time to let Larsen and Sowell go.

Just let Sowell go, wherever he wants... just far far away from the Cardinals :)

No problem , just give Prat and More rolls of duct tape they will have those limbs reattached in no time and send him back out on the field , it's all good .
