First preseason game or not, you have to be happy shutting out Green Bay.

Maybe the Cardinals have enough RBs but I'm not happy with what I've seen tonight.

Just looked over the stats -- Palmer, Stanton and Lindley all had a higher QB rating than Aaron Rodgers.

We have the top 3 QB's in football!!! :D

OK. Who stole the whole Cardinals team and put all these impostors in there. This ain't your father's Cardinals. They didn't throw an interception or fumble the ball away at a crucial period of the game and wind up losing by less than 3 points. Not only did they look competent, they also looked confidant and aggressive and it stretched through all of the players regardless of first string, second string, etc. On top of that, we had 3 quarterbacks that could actually throw a football to the players in the white uniforms and an offensive line that looked, dare I say it, like a REAL offensive line.

Where are the real Cardinals???

Great pass to Roberts. What a night! I couldn't be more excited. I loved the play calling. #32 and #13 played well as did our kid RB. Palmer is more than advertized. Can't wait till next week.

Hopefully they don't show up in week one vs. the Rams and Palmer gets rocked for eight sacks and injured.

I'm far from sold on our starting OL.

I can't believe how "excited" everyone is over Taylor and his 3.4 yards per on 20 carries... He was pretty mediocre. Most against second and 3rd teamers to boot..

TE, Run blocking...those were the two big issues, IMO.

Everything else was fun to watch.

Taylor shines in Arizona's 17-0 preseason win

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Stepfan Taylor aced his first test.
Exactly what you expect from a Stanford kid.
Taylor ran for 64 yards in his NFL debut, and the Arizona Cardinals exposed several trouble spots for the Green Bay Packers in a 17-0 preseason win Friday night. Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton each threw for a touchdown against a Packers secondary that had trouble containing anybody, and Arizona's aggressive new defense had three sacks, one interception and one forced fumble.

If 3.4 YPC is passing a test and the the longest run was in a hole so big I could a busted 8 to 10 yards then yea. Ill have to agree to disagree with that idiotic sports writer. Name me one RB in NFL history that put up a stat line of 20 for 64 yards and was lauded for it. WOW!

Did you watch the game? He had a clear lane to run through maybe once all night. Otherwise he was taking 1st contact at or behind the line of scrimmage on almost every carry and still getting 3-4 yards on most of his carries. When (if) this guy sees some real run blocking at some point this season he is going to look outstanding. On display tonight was his good vision, breaking tackles and his elusiveness. IMO there are maybe 5 RBs in all of the NFL that would have done better with the blocking he was getting all night.

I was impressed with Taylor's ability to make something out of nothing. I think it's a mistake to judge a running back by stats alone. He looks like the real deal.

I thought Taylor started slow and then picked it up. I was more impressed with him than Smith. Taylor is more of a grinder and I thought he showed some good vision between the hashes.

Really impressed with the depth on defense.
Also, Mathieu is the real deal, just a heck of an instinctual football player.

I thought our starting defense needs some work. GB just killed them on the first drive.

A Smith is fast, but there were never any opening for him. Taylor impressed me on how he could get through a pin hole and make some of it. He had no open holes and still made something out of nothing. Stanton is legit in my opinion. He didn't make any mistakes and was awesome at avoiding getting sacked. I think he is a stud 2nd stringer QB. He was a good pickup!

We finally have a quality QB in Palmer and it looks like we have a much better OL then we have had in years. We will see if this continues through the rest of the preseason and regular season.

It was really nice to see some competent football play tonight outside of our kickers.

If Harvard Rugland gets cut by the Lions I would like to see us bring him in. He hit from 49 and 50 tonight playing behind David Akers.

Meh.. Feely is fine. He missed a 53 yarder in the heavy humid wisconsin air for goodness sake. Thats a 50/50 bet at best. He was a 90% kicker last year.

Maybe just a bit of a stretch there, but hey I have high aspirations for this kid. I know he isn't going to really be a homerun hitter because he isn't a speed guy, but I certainly think he is easily capable of averaging above 4 YPC with halfway decent run blocking. Run blocking will certainly be a focal point of mine to look for in the rest of preseason. Hopefully it improves or this offense may not improve by the amount that a lot of people think it will.

I believe that Taylor possesses a pretty uncommon combination of skills. A lot of guys are good at one aspect or another of running the football. You have guys like Alfonso Smith who have blazing speed (average to below average in all other areas), guys with great vision, balance, quickness, acceleration, elusiveness and power to drive through tacklers. The reason why a lot of backs are unsuccessful at the NFL level is because they tend to only have 1 or maybe 2 of these attributes. I believe Taylor is at least pretty good in 5 of these areas (vision, balance, quickness, elusiveness and the ability to break tackles). Maybe I am completely wrong about the guy, but I just get the feeling when watching him run the ball that he is going to be pretty darn good.

Wife and I were both impressed with Stanton. Hadn't seen nor expected much from him. Throws a good back shoulder pass, and when pressured or sacked, compared to Kolb, the wife summed it up perfectly, "He ran forward, up into the pocket!" Just goes to show how bad our QBing has been.

Our running game was solid considering our line couldn't open up any holes. Most impressive is they stuck with it--we're going to see a similar pattern any time we get up on teams. Even at only 3.5 per clip we're going to pound it in there if we're up. Encouraged by that.

Any one of you can kick better than Batson.

Weakest link on the team appears to be our TE's. We've got some issues there.

It was so great seeing BA get in dude's faces as they came to the sideline, seemingly after every play. His face never wavered from that deep red shade of discontent. BA is a coach. He's not your friend; his comment on Jefferson's injury: “We came through fairly clean. D.C. Jefferson has a little bit of a hip pointer. That’s what happens when you drop big touchdowns.

Ahh Preseason--the only time the Cards can shutout the Packers at Lambeau Field :D

I was impressed with almost every facet of the game. Both Palmer and Stanton looked impressive. WRs were running open downfield. Defense was playing tough, and even withstood a no-huddle attack by A-Rodg & co. My only two gribes are that the offense clearly doesn't understand many of the plays. Alignment was awful and QBs had to constantly redirect receivers in motion. Also, the run blocking was horrendous, but then again, it didn't help that Smith ran nothing but 1-2 yard dive plays.
