The debate of whether or not KW belongs on there is on going but who are other players deserving to be there? Mine are:

Jim Hart
Neil Lomax
Jackie Smith
Tim McDonald
Mel Gray
Otis Anderson
Don Coryell

Agree? Disagree? Who would you add?

No to all the above especially McDonald.. I would possibly add Larry Centers and definitely Kurt Warner. Gotta keep a big piece of real estate for Fitz as well.

Agree with all but Tim McDonald and would have liked to see Eric Swann on the list. He is on the bubble and probably didn't earn enough on the field but would like to see it.

I'm one to say Kurt doesn't belong. a few great years isn't a career player. It's even worse than the Suns putting Barkley up in the Suns house.

I'm one to say it takes 9 years before you get a chance to end up on the ring of honor.

If you let Kurt up....Are we going to put every player with a few good years up.

Dansby, Dockett, Boldin, Fitz, Larry Centers....? There are a lot of players that are good...greatness for the Ring takes a career.

I believe it's a career (with the Cardinals) that makes the Ring...not a few good years.

Lastly - when the players name is mentioned a persons thoughts should go instantly to the team associated. In Kurts case it's still ST. L....and he's even stated in the Hall of Fame that St. L will be the jersey choice.

Since I don't live in Arizona, I get to the stadium so seldom, that I really don't care. :)

It really amazes me how little some people know of the history of their team. There are already members of the Ring of Honor who only played a few years. Dick Lane(4), Ollie Matson(6), and Ernie Nevers(3) all played but a few years for the franchise. Warner was here for 5 and put up some great numbers and took us to our only Super Bowl. If we only put career Cardinals up, we'd be left with Wilson, Deirdorf, Pittman, Goldberg, and Wherli. That's right, even Aeneas Williams would be gone. As for Kurt's jersey in the Hall, I take it you never been because unlike baseball, you go in as a player and a bust, not a plaque wearing a hat. You don't get your own display.

The reason those guys are in the Ring of Honor is that the Bidwills have been so inept for so long they had to borrow guys from other teams for their ROH. 20 years in the AZ and the only guy who had really earned a place in the ROH on the field is Aeneas Williams. 20 years, one guy!

:p

Lots of teams do it. The Eagles have Norm Van Brocklin in their roll of honor and he only played there 2 years.

Ernie McMillan deserves a place in the RoH. He played for the Cardinals a long time. How about Jim Bakken? Is he in the ring?

Anyone know any rational reason why the Cards let Tim McDonald go?

HE left for more money and a chance to win in SF when he became a FA. Who can blame him?
