Here is the thing, I loved Rackers special abilities on kickoffs, but Feely would not have missed that 34 yarder against the packers.
Pure conjecture.

As Manish Mehta of the Newark Star-Ledger points out, "The 33-year-old Feely made of 30 of 36 field goals last season, but missed a pair of them in the AFC Championship game against the Colts."
Darn. I loved Rackers toughness.
I dont see you in the video; therefore, you must try it again
I believe another part of the problem with Rackers is he has not been able to make the long FG's lately. I think his leg injuries are playing into that. How many times did the Cards punt instead of attempt the long FG last season, it was more than a couple...Rackers as a kickoffs specialist and long-range FG kicker.
Now who will make all the tackles on the kickoffs? Just sayin...
I have a feeling that Rackers overplayed his hand and tried to get to much money and to long of a contract out of us because he thought we had no choice. Word is that once Janakowski signed his deal Rackers got stars in his eyes. Note that is only a rumor, but I wouldnt doubt it.
if this is the case then Rackers may have taken one too many blows to the head on kick-offs. Dude chokes away the biggest kick of his life and looks at the best K in the game getting a big deal and thinks he should too? That's just pure, unadulterated stupidity.
The comp-ratio only applies to football players, and there are some who'd say that this rules out kickers.Does Feeley count against our Comp ratio, next year?
Well, there goes my prediction that Rackers would be the most controversial topic on the board next year.
Yeah, I could see that.Don't give up. If Feely sucks, maybe there will be tons of controversy on why we didn't resign Rackers.
hopefully the people who are paid to make them. Rackers making tackles was more of an indictment on our special teams than anything else IMO.
Wiz didn't trust Racker after his covering up the severity of his groin before the playoffs game. That was the deal closer, not necessairly just missing the kick.
And that makes complete sense to me. The most important thing with Wiz is trust and players being accountable to their team mates. Its why Buster Davis was cut after one training camp and its a big part of this move as well.
Rackers wasn't going to sign here even if he was going to take a cheap deal IMO. Now he won't get signed until someone is ineffective or injured in TC.
Money or even critical missed FG's was not the root of the issue IMO.
I'd rather have Rackers.
As much as we joke, Rackers WAS a factor on kickoff coverage. And, his pooch/on-sides kicking is as good as I've ever seen. It was almost uncanny.
I hope Feeley sets all kinds of records here and I'll obviously be rooting for him, but Rackers is the better kicker, I think.

Sadly, I agree. The main beef from people regarding Rackers is that he isn't clutch, and we're replacing him with a guy that missed two FG's in the playoffs as recently as last year. In addition, Rackers is definitely superior in coverage and in onside/pooch kicks. I can't tell you how many times it looked like a long return was being set up, and Rackers prevented it. Feely has some big shoes to fill, hopefully kicking in perfect conditions will benefit him.
It's his own fault. I thought he should have left Rackers off of the playoff roster and went with Nugent.
