Philly and Dallas IMO.

Not to mention Cleveland, Minny, and others.

Interesting...seems pretty obvious though that the Cards will need a deal that knocks their socks off to really consider it as an option. Also, Roy Williams was mentioned several times in the article, making it pretty obvious that teams will need to come up with at least a 1st and 3rd, and probably more than that.

So there it is. Right out in the open. Finally. Whether we trade Anquan or not, it's nice to know we have moved past overpaying for our "face-of-the-franchise". No player should be untouchable.

Anquan is unhappy and is making himself a pest and a distraction. Now we'll see if he has real market value and we'll also find out if his salary demands are out of line. Q can make or break his own trade value by communicating to prospective teams how much money will make him play hard.

My opinion is that no team will trade for him without first agreeing to a money deal with Q.

I agree with everything you said, Skkorp...but I actually think that because Q already has two year left on his deal, a team that trades for him might wait a year---or even two---to talk new contract.

So can we finally all just agree that this trade is GOING to take place on draft day?

If I thought there was smoke before it just turned into a wildfire with this article.

There is no benefit to stating these types of comments unless you are preparing the fan base for a big move.

He played hard last year for money he felt was way too low.

This is the first repercussion of the club not being able to re-sign Dansby. The club needs cap room and maneuverability...and they aren't going to get it from Dansby...which is the freeking fly in the ointment.

He says in the article that the trade would happen the day before the draft or not at all. Makes no sense to me as it seems the best deal might really happen during the first round of the draft??? I'm confused on this statement.

I think they are trying to get both of Philly's two #1's by coming out and saying this by creating interest. I'm sure they will take a #1 and #2. The comment by Graves "getting a contract worked out moving forward is going to be challenging" might just speak volumes into where this situation goes. I say Boldin will be gone by draft day!!!

No... but we can agree, as the GM and coach have stated "on the record", that it is a possibility.

Something has to change, one way or another. There's no way Q can complain through another year without becoming a major distraction. A public bidding war seems like a great way to get things going. I fully expect him to be gone by the end of next Saturday.

uhoh! I don't want 81 to go, and now, for the first time its for real to me that he might, and if so we need to get what the Cowpies paid to make it worthwhile. Roy Williams will never have 3 NFL records let alone 3 in 6 years...Why can't we trade Dansby instead?

Q is only a distraction to you and fans. Not the team or it players.

Nope. And that's irrelevant now. His new team knows Anquan wants more money and will want assurance Boldin will continue to play hard. Otherwise, they would be dumb to trade for him. That's all I meant.

If Anquan is here next year, good. If we trade him for draft picks, good.

Only good if the picks are worthy. Minimum Roy Williams type trade imho.

I think this is a Q market check as much as anything --

meaning-- I am presuming from this announcement that Drew now has permission to talk to figure what other team might offer contract wise in a trade scenario

Whileto some this move may seem insignificant.. but to me it is a GLARRING sign of the Cards raising the white flag on the Boldin negotiations...

The timing of this is pretty clear, remember, the Cards brass met with Rosenhaus yesterday, and clearly the meeting must have given the team some sort of information that resigning Boldin is a long shot at best.

With the Draft day trade theme, I am startig to think the Cardinals may have their eye on multiple individuals in the draft and assuming things fall they way they expect, they will more than likely have a trade partner (or 2) on speed dial.

I do think this is TRUELY th beginning of the end of the Boldin era, the Cards just need to make sure if they trade him to an NFC contender, it is a MINIMUM of a 1st and a 2nd... anything short of that would be a failure IMO...

Not saying a deal is imminent, but I think the odds of Boldin being a Card next year have GREATLY diminished...
