Idzik was adept at finalizing contracts...with last night's news that C/G Al Johnson and G/T Mike Gandy staying in town to get deals done..and Ken Whisenhunt and Kent Somers reporting that negotiations were "close"...what's holding these signings up?

In the immortal words of Rodney Dangerfield, "Let's go while we're young!"

I remember posting that losing him was a bigger loss than LD.

Idzik was never the main negotiator. He was only Graves right hand man and handled the 2nd through 7th round draft contracts.

seattle lost dielman due to an odd case of loyalty - they put together a nice package

i'm really bummed about losing reinfeldt though - the way he structured contracts was very good - i'm skeptical of anyone else

Jurecki was speculating its a case of bandwidth

there are only so many contracts one can negotiate at the same time --

Between Graves and Idzik, the Cards had double the capacity they have right now --

I think that the timing of Idzik leaving will have an affect on the FO .. signing these big contracts and protecting the future cap is no easy manner ...

I think we are the only team that straight lines every deal (maybe the only one that SL's any deal)!

With that philosophy, we will never be in cap hell.

Actually, our contracts are more player friendly, IMO, so I don't think you can call cheap on this one.

Forget about whether contracts are player friendly or cap friendly. I just wish the Cardinals would do some contracts that were win friendly.

Do you REALLY think that we will have a future problem with the cap, considering how we approach free agency every year?
