What!

We're coming off an 11 win season, not 5 and time for a rebuild.

Pugh was top 5 in pass pro at his position this past season, and you won't get that out of a rookie.

New deals that lower the Cap hit of both Pugh & Hump is a much more likely scenario. IMO.
Lol pugh was awful!!! And terron would be a massive upgrade over hump

Two terms you evidently don't fully understand are 'awful' and 'massive'.
Two terms you don’t understand; overpaid, underperformed.

Let’s just stay status quo. Have our line get absolutely dominated again and waste $26mm on players who by in large part sucked all year. Smart.

Allow me to add to your vocabulary: Restructure (and/or new contracts to lower Cap hit)

One man's status quo is another's continuity.

We have an issue with right guard, not left guard and certainly not left tackle.

I've seen Belicheck cut the Jordan Hicks type players for two decades.

Nice player but nothing special.
That’s fine, but does it have more to do with the Pats winning Super Bowls than, say, having Tom Brady?

The Pats are an outlier and shouldn’t really be used to introduce parallels or counter-examples.

Tom Brady was the ultimate leader and captain holding people accountable.

Oh you really are blind if you think right guard was our only problem on the offensive line.. I’m sure you are the same person who though Patty Mahomes line was just fine after the Bucs SuperBowl - only for KC to have 5 brand new starters the next year.

But carry on with your D-Hump signed jersey on the ceiling directly above your bed.

Could you be any more juvenile?

im trying to think out loud the next moves. I think they either restructure or cut Jordan Phillips. He is a prime candidate. Hump too.

Cant see Pugh having much security if there is an upgrade available.

I really do think Alford makes it back on a one year deal.

Phillips has $9.2m dead cap. Don't see him getting cut. Would only save $4m and would cost that to replace him.

And I don't see what leverage Keim has to get him to take a cut. By restructuring Phillips last year and paying him bonus money he essentially already got paid most of this years money. A cut and a new deal would suit Phillips. Plus this is the last year of his deal, there are no future years to spread a restructure into.

One of the worst FA deals ever. The worst part is that to restructure him last year we added a void year next year that so he has a $6m cap hit next year but won't even be on the team.

As I said at the time we signed him. Never, ever sign 1 year wonders to big deals.

Hicks was one of Keim's better free agent signings. He wasn't great, but he worked hard and never missed a game. I hope he goes somewhere that doesn't require him to cover RBs on wheel routes anymore.
I feel most would agree with this. Hicks served his purpose and being overpaid is relative. We have now drafted players to replace him and so we move on.

Collins rushing the passer and Simmons lost in space...what could go wrong?

Jordan Philips ends up as a very poor FA signing would be more a reflection of his lackluster work ethic and attitude, rather than the result of a one-year wonder. Hasson Reddick was also talked about as a one-year wonder, but he picked up where he left and got even better this year.

Thank u Jetstream to be a true fun without being rewarded
Hicks got millions and played subpar
I don't get the thanks
I do, the NFL makes the SEC look like cream puffs and he did tackle guys which would be the equivalent of tackling a semi truck.... not his fault he got paid what he did, it's called respect :)

Jet, don't you know you're supposed to call players trash, garbage, corpse, etc., etc. Especially ex-Cards players! LOL

I have a friend who played for the Cards. He was a CB. Never had any major surgeries while with the Cards and after his retirement he has had already multiple surgeries on his knees which came about later due to his tenure in the NFL. Now, he's a grown man and acknowledges he accepted the money but never really knew the reality of what this meant, but said he would have honestly thought twice if he knew what he knew now

Yes, it is an unfortunate reality that the game takes it's toll on the body. I knew a guy that played on the Raiders, never got injured and still had the back and every joint needing to be replaced eventually. Said he'd still do it all over again.

I once ran into Early Campbell when he was working at the University of Texas after his career as an athlete. Earl can hardly walk and has had his bouts with prescription pain medication. My lanky distance runner arse literally ran into him around a corner. Big man said, "son, you almost took me out", which I laughed looking at his thighs which were still as big as my waist

Earl was such a great player. Too bad Bum ran him into the ground.
