If you give Kurt Warner time he can put up big numbers. If the Cards sign him they better have the o-line to protect him or it would get ugly. Still, out of the free agent QBs out there right now, Warner is probably the best one of the bunch.

There are so many rumors going around regarding free agents that I don't know what is fact or fiction. Guess we will find out starting on March 2.
However, Warner would do fine with the Cards.

Rather have Warner than Brad Johnson, at least he has had some success more recently.

I heard somewhere today that Warner's number one choice was to go to Detroit.Maybe Detroit has said they are signing Garcia. I have no problem bringing Warner in.Hell, the guy was a 2 time MVP and led about the most prolific offense in the last 20 years. Green's a pretty optomistic guy and that seems to be the kind of guy that Warner needs to thrive under. You know Coughlin was just waiting for him to fail. So, i'm all for it. Josh McCown vs. Kurt Warner.I think that one is a no-brainer.

I think we need to sign a FA Qb, so why not Warner? Who else is out there? Warner or Johnson are about the only one's not accounted for.

I dont get this. Last year Green went out of his way to say no in re to Warner, and just a couple of months ago reiterated the same. More rumors circulating than in a girls bathroom:)

Please say it isn't so. Another year of futility. He should be bagging groceries again right now.

Didn't Johnson just win the superbowl 2 years ago? Or was someone else under center for the bucs that season?...seriously, I don't remember.

I don't know if the Cards are truely interested. He does come with some serious baggage.

She certainly is... er... a strong woman.

She changed the hair style recently. Doesn't look that bad anymore.

Yeah, that was Johnson.

Just throwing this out there. Warner is 3 years younger than Johnson and last year he had a QB rating of 86.5. By comparison, McCown's rating was 74.1.

If we solidified the line and got a running game, I could see Warner being very effective in our offense. I am not a huge fan of the guy, but if we asked him to do very little, I think he could be more effective than Josh.

Given Denny's track record with veteran QBs that have guns for arms, I would be neither surprised nor disappointed with this signing, nor with signings of guys like Johnson or George. We'll see how it all pans out, but this offseason will be one fun ride...weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Kurt Warner sucks. He was a product of the system. Just like Bulger. If he comes here and starts I'll lead the chant "We Want Josh" at the start of the first home game.

Wait a minute, let me get this right.....you are saying that, without even seeing Warner throw one pass you will be ready to throw him under the bus and beg for the return of Josh McCown? This is just one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read, especially considering the fact that Josh has done nothing to disprove his critics. Sure, if we are playing pickup basketball, I would probably choose Josh, but to quarterback a football team, I'll take Kurt, thanks. BTW, I think the "we want Josh" chant would be more appropriate in the singular form, since I cannot imagine any fan, retardedly drunk or not participating in the same chant.

Oh Canada!
I just got an e-mail form a friend who works for the Ravens. And usually he loves to e-mail to rag on me about how bad the Cards are! But today he e-mailed me to tell me that this move would be a very good one. He said that they played the giants this year and for 3 quarters they held Eli to a o qb rating and then Warner came in for the 4th and threw for a 125 yards on them and moved up and down the field with ease. Maybe he does have some gas left?

Warner is a risk, but...

if he comes through, and I think he can, we are a serious playoff contender next season. He can make our offense potent in a very short time. If he comes through.

I concur.

Sorry, not Warner. Anybody but Warner, please. I'd rather go with Josh next year. Warner hasn't looked anything like the guy who won back to back MVP's. He's looked like the worst starting QB in the leauge for a few years now. Or maybe i'm still bitter about the year I drafted him #3 overall in my FF leauge and he started off the season with a 7 turn over game, and eventually lost his starting job to Bulger.

I really, really believe that he is completly washed up. I don't want to give him a few mill to sign here and have to watch him throwing picks left and right and fumbling all over the field. We can have Josh do that at a fraction of the price.

He did look pretty bad when he quarterbacked the Giants against the Cards. Then again the Giants only have 1 legitimate reciever in Toomer and their o-line is horrendous. The Cards defense didn't play too shabby either. He is an upgrade over King. So if he's able to come in and show he can play I'll support him.

We need a qb. I don't care who we bring in but we MUST upgrade over King and it must be somebody that has a legitimate shot at being the starting qb.

Any 1 player we bring in on offense will not be enough to turn it around. If Warner is the qb and we make no other moves besides draft choices he will fail miserably. Same goes for Henry.

BUT...........
If we sign Warner and add a rg, rt and a rb then Warner could excel. Quite frankly, the blueprint to this off season is VERY blurry right now.

Keep this in mind guys as you start to think about any free agents. If Dennis Green has a guy pegged, there is a reason for it. He's been here a year now and knows exactly what he has on board and what he needs to fix it. If Warner is his guy, I'm all for it.

You mean the game where McCown threw for 90 yards?

He and Warner combined for 284 and 1 TD. Decent numbers for one guy. Maybe they could play them both at the same time.

You are right about Toomer though he had 8 catches for 100 against us.
