Our second first round pick is having a good game today. 4-4 in the 7th. I only saw the last hit, and it was just a check swing infield single but i was very imppressed with his patience and eye. Layed off 2 strikes that were borderline and would have been really tough to hit. Worked the count full before the hit. He looks like a guy thats going to develop a lot of power, and with an OBP of .486 this year is going to be a good hitter. Too bad he needs TJ surgery, i could see him on the fast track to the big leagues. His defense is supposedly really good also.

I agree. This guy is going to be a stud. Mike Rizzo said it is a blessing for the D-Backs that he needs Tommy John because he would have never lasted until the 19th pick let alone the 29th. They said he should be ready to go in 10 months. Quentin, Jackson, and D'Antona were solid picks.

For him to be doing what he has done this season with a torn ligament in his right elbow is truly remarkable. One Pac Ten coach said he has basically been playing with one arm all season. I can't wait to see this kid healthy, and in our Minor League system. It should be alot of fun following his career. Hopefully, he'll be playing at Bank One in a couple years.

Saw your boy Carlos get interviewed on ESPN during the CWS game. Sounded like a very well spoken young man. Typical D-Back quality guy.
