I totally disagree with this premise.

Palmer WAS elite. Go look it up. His 2005 and 2006 seasons were the best in the league and he led the league in TDs. Name me last guy to start for the Pro Bowl team and lead the league in TDs that wasnt elite. Thanks for playing.

Also people have SUCH selective memory on ****. Do you remember the Kurt Warner the Cardinals brought in way back when? Do you remember the Kurt Warner that played here his first two years? Again go get k9 to sit on the metrics for you. His TO % was horrible and maybe worst in the league.

He got it coached out of him and became an expert in the offense. Hence 2008 and 2009. Same thing is/was happening with Palmer. Compare his INT % last two years with his 5 years prior (Much like Warner with Giants and last 2 years on Rams when he was basically given away so they could start Marc Bulger. Yes Marc Bulger)

Honestly I called 4-0 and I am damn pissed about yesterdays game. We can rationalize all we want but they should have won despite the officiating and Landry Jones not being practiced for. I HATE Mike Tomlin and he did it to us again. Yes there were some bad signs from the game, most of them in the first half when we should have put out foot on their throats and been up 21+

But that doesnt turn Palmer into a pumpkin or mean we are cheering for a non contender. Frankly coming here pisses me off to read how reactionary and silly the mindset I read here week to week. Try and take a step back and breath. What you saw in totality is more important then what you saw last week even though its the most recent information.

And everyone is going to be falling over themselves when this team is in the NFC Championship about "how it all came together" and "how this or this happened"..... nah you are all wrong. The evidence has been there from the beginning ya'll just decided to flip out and throw away the season after Week 6. And yes saying our top rated QB whom has 14 TDs and 5 INTS is medicore is a total extreme hot take at its worst. I mean did I seriously see someone start a thread called its all over? LOL our biggest comp is Seattle and they are way more screwed. At this point we have the division sown up.

Jesus ESPN and Social Media is ruining everyones brains. We dont need a bunch of hot takes. Be measured. Know what you are seeing. And quit generalizing and being the first with an opinion.

In finality no I dont think Palmer is a falling a part. This wasnt happening last year. Ill give it more time before making an full read on this topic. Theres been a lot more good then bad, yesterdays game non withstanding where he was definitely off all game.

We do need to beat a good team. Looks like we wont have that shot until at Seattle or Cinncy at home. Until then we can calm down on the Super Bowl favorite talk. But dismissing it out of hand because of a couple disappointing losses is stupid too.

Im taking a break. See ya on the flip side.

Winner!!!!! I couldn't agree with you more. We played poorly in the 2nd half but we still more than dominated this game and couldn't punch it in the end zone with the game on the line late in the 4th quarter. If you look at this game and the Rams game they are very similar in that in the final 3 minutes we had the ball with a chance to win and we couldn't Seal the deal. We lost the turnover battle but dominated every other aspect. Minor bugs to fix IMO. Not every team can be perfect and I'd rather us find out these problems now then in 2-3 months when the games matter more.

Yea I was there and they had a board that showed total yards and I believe at half it was 261-48 and if you take out the 82 yard pass I believe the yards would have been 410-210. ( I took out the garbage yards on our last drive) IMO that's dominating. We turned the ball over 2 times in our territory and another time in the end zone.

We out yardaged them in the 1st half but they kept us from scoring...

The Second half they scored on us on 5 straight drives.... And "dominated" us... The score reflects as such... To say we dominated the game to me is way off base...

He's a good QB, but he ain't close to
Elite and never has been. That's the reality of what we're seeing. He's got to make a play in ONE of the two close games we've played so far and when the chips were down both times, he folded twice.

Palmer is playing exactly like Palmer has always played.

Not sure why people are shocked. He has been as good/bad as he always has been.

Palmer didn't win this game for the Cardinals, but he didn't lose it either.

That was a team loss.

I'm just laying out my opinion. We moved the ball up and down the field on them and left a lot of points on the board by not tapping a toe not making fgs forcing passes late in the game. My point is we had 3 TO that led to 17 points compared to their 0 TO and still had a chance to win.

Which proves were an ok middling of the pack ball club... Not the elite top tier team some people think we are. We're a 10 win team and one and done if we make the playoffs.. Nothing more or less

There were plenty of threads calling for Warner to be benched after some bad games so these threads don't surprise me after a loss.

The guy has a 107 passer rating. I HOPE he's our biggest concern.

Didn't Palmer hit John Brown for an 80 yarder last year in a clutch situation versus Philly?

Didn't Palmer hit John Brown late in the game in last year's opener vs. SD for the game winner.

Every other game he started last year they won by 10+ points.

Lol

I think his first week back in a uniform is a little early to write him off Copper. I also thought his presence would help the entire pass rush, so it wasn't just him I'm counting on.

But yeah I was waiting for you to rip me for that one. :p Mr negative Nancy;)

BS

The Cardinals are a top 10 team in the NFL. If they remain healthy and get into the playoffs they can play with any team if they limit their mistakes. Goal #1 is win the NFC West. Right now they still hold their own destiny there.

Agree. I'd rather be "elite" come January than October/November anyway.

They're 4-2 and pretty much beat themselves in the 2 losses. They can play with anybody and beat anybody. Green Bay is the only other team in the NFC that is on par with the Cards. I think the top 4 teams are :
NE
Cincinnati
GB
Arizona

Denver, Carolina, and Atlanta have better records but I'll take the Cards over all of them.

Palmer had an uneven day and made that horrible throw for the INT. He is a VERY Good QB bordering on Great.

Floyd just needs to drag his toe quicker and it's a different game IMO.

Very disappointed in the team for this crappy loss but I'm not jumping off the wagon.

A) you're right Floyd. That was a poor effort on his part

B) we have certainly had worse

C) I think your mind is clouded by the dreck we've had at QB. Hot garbage smells good to a man that's smelled nothing but poop his while life (or just the final years of whis)

D) a very good QB wins one of those games. A great QB wins both and we are undefeated. That's how winnable both games were. Tom Brady doesn't lose those games because he makes the smart reads and doesn't force it.

Warner was not perfect. I would put Carson right up there with him.

Go back and watch some film. Warner made mistakes and cost us games too. He fumbled in the end zone in OT to give the Niners a win over us at UOP. He tossed a game changing pick six in a goal line situation in Tampa for Pete's sake. Plenty more examples. Some people tend to look back on him as if he walked on water. Simply not true.

Who would you rather be our QB? Warner in his two playoff run or Carson right now? I choose warner 100%.

Weren't there calls for Brady to be replaced last year about this time? I'm not going to sit here and try to say Palmer is as good as Brady because he's not. But every QB has their ups and downs, Brady included.

I would need to go back and watch that again, but I thought Fitzgerald was pretty well covered until the ball was on its way to Brown and Fitzgerald was pretty far off to the other side of the field. That said, Fitzgerald would have still been a much better choice than throwing the game away. That was just an awful decision by a veteran who should know better.

I agree to a point. I know he is a holy roller, but Warner did not walk on water the way some people remember here. My guess is we could go back and find just as many of the same types of complaints about him that we are seeing about Palmer. The only difference is Palmer is playing behind a much better O-line with a better running game and more weapons.

Joe

Yeah that's my point. With this team warner would be in charge of a Suoerbowl capable team. It would be the best backfield he had since Faulk. That said, Fitz, Q, and breast on weren't a bad wideout *********

I love when people come on here and change my words. I said "average" not "mediocre." I think there's a world of difference between the two. An average QB with amazing weapons and a good/right scheme can have a great season, meaning great numbers (see your junk about 2005, etc), but it doesn't make him a good QB. A good QB makes plays when a game is there for the winning, and avoids mistakes when they aren't completely necessary. That pick in the end zone wasn't a great play by a defender. The safety sat and waited for Carson to throw it to him.

IIRC, the Cards were 9-7 and 10-6 during the regular season in the Warner playoff years.

I'll wait and see on that call.

Losing the turnover battle 0-4 and 0-3 in the two games we played against arguably the best teams we've faced doesn't qualify as "minor bugs" to me. It portends a scary trend.
