I'm thinking about going to Omaha to watch Markopolos give a lecture on this issue and his book detailing his work.

The guy seems like he would very entertaining. He was on Real Time a few weeks ago and was a blast.

No question Madoff is a crook and should spend the rest of his life in prison, but it's hard for me to feel too sorry for the people he cheated.

$1 invested in Madoff back in 1990 was supposed to be worth $6.75 today. NPB Bank, out of Zurich, even offered a version of this fund with three times the leverage. Talk about too good to be true.

The people who lost money with Madoff really have only their own greed to blame.
