Only two of the list have been head coaches. Sherman and Cameron.

Scratch Cameron, I wouldn't refer to his tenure at Indiana as coaching. In all honesty, the program did not improve at all during his tenure. Terry Heppner accomplished more in one year at IU than Cameron did in five.

It's not all that important really. I was just curious. So of all of the candidates that have been interviewed who if any is your favorite(s)?

Huh. I guess sometimes I say things without thinking them through all the way. I mean, I'm generally just kind of resigned to the fact that the Cards aren't going to be successful while Rod Graves is holding the reins of the franchise. Basically, I think it's safe to assume that whomever Graves and M. Bidwill choose will be a disaster.

It won't stop me from thinking whomever they get is a coup when it happens, and then finding a way to convince myself that whoever our new coach is was a great choice and will turn this team around. I still think that in comparison to guys like Cam Cameron, Chow would still be a disaster. I don't really think that he knows how to run a team. But if it's going to happen, it'll happen.

Maybe Chow will be like Frank Gore, of whom first you said was turning back into a pumpkin and would get his job taken by Michael Robinson, then you voted him into the Pro Bowl.

This whole worrying about Chow because he has never been a head coach is non sensical. I agree he doesn't have the chops to coach in college because he doesn't have the persona of someone who could sweet talk a recruit and sometimes more importantly galvanize the boosters. I also think he is very loyal and didn't want to leave LaVell Edwards during his long tenure at BYU. But the guy hired Mike Holmgren and worked with Andy Reid and Brian Billick. Plus he worked at SC which is run like a pro football team so its not like he doesn't have an understanding of what it takes. He has only had two years of experience in the NFL and in the second year produced a OROY froma guy who was seen as a couple years away from producing and is getting HC looks after only his second year in the NFL. Its impossible to go from college OC to NFL HC so that explains why it hasn't happened until now.

You know who else wouldn't do to well at recruiting and galvanizing boosters. Bill Belicheck. Brain power is everything in the NFL and i believe he will give this team confidence in his preperation and offensive acumen. Plus he has the buy in from the franchise player.

Chow is as good as it gets IMO. This is one candidate who would bring alot to the table IMO. My only concerns are his ability to draft. We all know we can't leave Graves to his own devices with that...,

But you can't just consider Chow in a vaccuum. Yes, he has some impressive credentials, but is he the best candidate available to the Cardinals? Is he better than Cam Cameron, who groomed two Pro Bowl quarterbacks and fashioned an offensive line who could block for an MVP runningback out of a bunch of castoffs and mid-round draft picks? Cameron, who isn't going to have to learn about how to delegate authority to assistants and organize a staff because he did so at Indiana? Cameron, who ran a Top 10 offense this season?

Chow is as good as it gets? Really? It doesn't get any better? If Bill Belicheck said that he wanted to coach in AZ and voided his contract with the Pats, he wouldn't be a better candidate?

I think that Chow is maybe as good a candidate as Wisenhunt, Grimm, or Rivera, who all have a lot of question marks about them, but I think that "as good as it gets" goes a little far.

Thanks for your honesty K9. Lots of times I disagree with you on stuff but you do stick your neck out a lot and make predictions and no one is ever correct all of the time.

I feel ya on the Cards braintrust especially on Graves. How does that saying go there is a time to cut bait and there is a time to fish? Something like that. Now was the time to fish for a new VP of Football operations or GM or whatever his title is. He simply has not led this team up to this point like he should have. I don't care if he is a nice guy or not. We cannot replace ownership but the Bidwill's could have replaced RG. Note/FYI for anyone that is reading this: I am not insluting RG or disrespecting him when I say this. It is meant as constructive criticism.

As for what I bolded up there been there done that man. I think that every single time the B's hire a new coach!!!!!! It can get frustrating as well. Over and over again I think it and convince myself of it. Hoping to myself "maybe this guy is the one". That type of buit up frustration/hope may have been behind what you said about Chow.

Every NFL head coach was once a head coaching candidate with no NFL head coaching experience.

Many have mentioned this, Evil Ash mentioned Payton and Mangini. AZDAD mentioned Andy Reid.

But they were assistants for Pro Teams.

Chow is basically a college assistant with ONE recent year as an NFL assistant.

Most Head coaches were either College Head Coaches or longer-tenured NFL assistants. Chow doesn't fit either category, and thus scares me.

Sherman, Cameron, Rivera or Grimm are all well ahead of Chow in my book.
