Ariza is probably starting at the 3. Expect Warren to be moved.

Maybe Warren will be used in a trade for a PG. However, what does this say about Josh Jackson if the Suns start Ariza at the 3.

I know people want a part 2 to this trade but what makes anyone believe there will be? McD has created lopsided rosters numerous times in the past and this next year won't be that different. Most thought there was a part 2 to the Bridges draft day deal and then part 2 to the Ariza signing but nothing has happened. Dudley was traded for a Center who might not be in the league in a year or two also. That was the only trade that had a part 2 and that was underwhelming. I want there to be a part 2 but weakening our position doesn't make that more likely.
I think that was the goal this offseason but I don't know if that's what we're actually doing just yet. I wouldn't be shocked to see us package some picks along with some combination of Chandler, Warren, Melton, Bridges and Anderson to Charlotte for Walker and a couple of horrible contracts (Biyombo, Batum etc).

Some of those guys can't be traded for a while, mainly Melton and Anderson. They can be traded alone right now but to be involved in a package the Suns have to wait 60 days since they just acquired them in another trade. Here's the CBA info on that.

By the way, Chriss will look very good in Houston. Then this board will be saying "Why couldn't he do that here?", overlooking that he did do it here during the last couple of months.

Maybe there is not another piece in this trade but the Suns will reportedly continue their pursuit of a point guard. Another trade will happen.

There has to be more to this trade than meets the eye. Another trade has to be in the works. Why would the Suns trade for Anderson.

Anderson has a worse contract than Knight.

I think so too. There has to be another trade lined up. My guess is Warren, and maybe one of the young PGs, and maybe Bender will be involved in part two.

Here is more. So the Suns get some salary relief for Anderson. It makes sense now.

I am sorry your buddy Chriss got traded, Slin. It will be OK, I promise. You'll make it through, even though it seems really rough right now.

Yeah, Anderson is definitely better than Bender right now, but that’s not saying much.

While that's nice it still doesn't make sense. I'd rather have Knight than Anderson, at the same salary.

AND they could have let Chriss walk next summer anyway. I've been trying to see the logic in this trade, but I got nothing. Maybe they actually like Anderson?

It should have read the Suns get some salary relief on Anderson's contract making it less burdensome.

The Suns must have really wanted out of Knight's contract.

Keep them both healthy and Anderson is the better player IMO. But keeping Anderson healthy, I don't know if that's possible.

I think something will happen along these lines.

I just got an alert on my phone that Anderson "agrees to reduce his guarantees by $5.4m to clear way out of Houston."

Not sure what that means.

I was gonna argue with you, but I looked up Ryan's stats, and at least according to the stats, he is better than I remember.

So it's sort of like Anderson for Knight and Chriss for Melton. It doesn't look so bad this way and the Suns hopefully get players they will use.

I think all along most of the fans realized Knight was a risk to start at point guard.

They are not out any more money. They were probably thinking of letting Chriss walk anyway. They had to decide between Chriss and Bender. They only have enough minutes to let one or the other develop. They are just moving on now, rather than letting it drag on another year. This roster is too crowded with young players anyway.
