The players will be given Christmas off this year to spend with their families. They will have an extended practice on Saturday to make up for it.

Much much much different than last year that's for sure. When they had to practice in full pads and go full contact.

Thoughts?

With the divsion clinched and playing the Rams I don't see a problem with it. Just be ready for next week against the Packers as I have a 11-5 record in the office pool.

As long as they spank the Rams on Sunday, I have no problems with it.

Somethings are more important than football (he says on a message board dedicated to football on the eve).

According to Q and Bert Berry on the BRR they have never heard of this happening before in the NFL since they started playing till after Christmas. I find that hard to believe?

Whiz seems to know what to do and how to motivate this team. Merry Christmas Cardinal players.

Agree, however if they drop the Rams game, their asses need to be out there on the practice field, under the lights, in full pads, at 11PM on New Year's Eve. No parties for losers...

Last Xmas we had just laid a huge egg in NE.. Whis was trying to get them focused for the playoffs with only one game left..

Will Warner and other key starters play much against the Rams?

Whisenhunt says they are going all out to win this game and are not planning to rest any starters.

Players definitely appreciate gestures like these...

"We have to reward him by getting a 'W' on Sunday," Fitzgerald said. "When coach throws you a bone like that, you have to let him know you appreciate it and will keep it coming."

In addition to the "W", I would like to see a more complete game put together by the team in preparation for the playoff run. We need to see players focused and sharp.

Yeah that. The Cards took off two weeks for Christmas last year.

Taking off only one day shows how much more dedicated they are this year.

However here I am not really caring much about the last couple of games in December just like always. Same old Cardinals. ;)
