Exactly. But it seems a few here can watch a few preseason games and understand everything our coach and players see in practice and games every week. Every conversation and play. Matt's been perfect and Anderson sucks.

how true. :D

those statements just dont seem all that heated or ugly to me.

Maybe not but you have to consider there's no way Whis wants this getting anymore dramatic. Leinarts comments today threw gas on the fire if you ask me.

I've tried not to throw blame around but if Leinart wants an explanation, he should have gone straight to Whis. His comments today are starting to make him look like a clubhouse cancer which is why I think he'll get moved if he's not the week 1 starter.

And just so I'm on the record, I want Leinart to start week 1.

dude, that all looks pretty ugly to me. Matt's all but saying "coach doesn't like ME... not me the QB, but ME." That's ain't good.

I'm going to laugh hysterically at all those people who shredded Lombardi and ESPN as out of their minds when Matt's not just... uh... not our opening day starter... but ain't even on the team!

I think Cleavon Little has become our coach: ALWAYS LIKE TO KEEP MY AUDIENCE RIVETTED!

I have to agree with Cheese here.

I've been behind Matt until I read these quotes today. He is coming off like an entitled baby. Although I see that a lot from kids his age these days.

Levi Brown is awful. The FO has a big decision coming up regarding him - extend him or let him walk. Some here think we should resign him simply because he's a former 5th overall pick. I completely disagree.

we have no nfl caliber starting tackles on this team. levi and keith have looked terrible. on one play this weekend keith's man ran right by him. flushed anderson to the right. keith just stopped and watched the man who beat him continue to pursue to anderson. now keith couldn't have done anything about that guy, but if he had kept his head in the game he would've found the other defender that was running right by him who caused anderson to rush his throw. if keith had blocked that guy, anderson would have had time to set up and throw rather than throw on the run (something we know he does NOT excel at).

then in the second half bridges and someone wearing a 60's number were playing tackle. i rewound the play 5 times trying to figure out which defensive end won in their race to hall. it was that close.

we don't have a real nfl tackle on this roster.

don't resign levi brown. just acknowledge that he was one of the worst draft selections of the 2000's.

Not to pile on Shane here because that's my point but to me this situation is approaching Haynesworth/Shanahan status. Different circumstances but seems like a similar player/coach relationship.

You're exaclty right about the OT talent on this roster and it's very troubling. It's scary to think that we now have to probably draft a QBOF but also try and find a premier LT in the draft as well (which we've failed miserably at twice now).

I've gotten over the "we passed on AP for this guy?" hump but it's amazing to me that Brown is so bad. He looks completely lost and is good for a couple sacks and a false start a game. The jinx of #75 continues.

What I've noticed and find extrememly funny (won't come week 1) is how our OT's pile on the sack when they get beat. I've seen both Keith and Brown this offseason get beat and give up a sack and then pile on top of the DE and QB. They must be trying to show they're playing to the whistle but I still find it very funny.

I disagree here. If a coach is demoting someone, the coach should tell that player why. How would you feel at your job if you do everything your boss asks of you, only to have some sloppy new recruit fresh out of college come in and be given your responsibilities while you are demoted to do the grunt work that the new inexperienced people normally do without so much as an explanation from your boss?

Maybe you take that as coming across as entitled. I say Whiz does owe Matt an explanation. How can you become a better player if the coach won't tell you what you're doing wrong? That's the coaches job and any player should be mad if the coach demotes him without a clear reason why.

Matt didn't do this when he lost his job to Warner. He knew why. Warner outplayed him.

Leinart doesn't know and isn't asking, Whis knows and isn't telling. Communication, both of you guys??

I guess if I'm a coach and my "starter" doesn't seem to have it going, I'm going to be all up in him letting him know exactly what it is I want and need him to do.

And if I'm a player and my coach doesn't seem to have trust in me I'm going to be asking him what he needs me to do and I'll do it. These two have a laissez faire attitude about the whole thing and that will end up with DA being our freaking starter.

Do they talk at all? The OC (whis) and the starting QB should be bosom buddies for goodness sake, not a divorced couple deftly negotiating each others' space at a family gathering.

And this wasn't a known issue by these two until now? Please.

People conventiently forget that Whis & Co. did discuss the move w/ Leinart -

Leinart was informed of the change Thursday morning in a meeting with Whisenhunt, passing game coordinator Mike Miller and quarterbacks coach Chris Miller.

Either that or Matt is like a kid whom you tell 100 times and still just doesn't get it. he is like a fan who's only reply is "but I outplayed him on the field. Look at my stats"

I find it hard to believe that the QB's aren't in the film session being told what reads they are missing and in general what mistakes they are making. In fact I would say that is damn near an impossibility!

More Tweets from Urban -

Leinart -"This probably goes beyond football, beyond the field."

Whis - "We are always trying to pick the best players to try and win, that's what this process is about..."

Whis - "This is not about whether you like somebody or don't like somebody."

It's now starting to get ugly and IMO it's clear that Leinart will get cut/traded if he's not named the starter.

If Carroll gets this kid in Seattle, he sure does have some motivation to kick our tails.

Well, evidently, according to Matt... the "why" part was not fleshed out.

Then Matt's wrong because Whis said in numerous interviews that he made the change to give the offense a spark.

If my boss demoted me, the first thing I would do is ask why. At some point Leinart needs to stop being a baby and have a man-to-man talk with Whis. Whining through the media will get him nothing but a one way ticket out of town (which he may want).

I don't know. He complained about not being told there was a competition. Hello, earth to Matt, you already lost your job once that way..

Here is the quote from Matt:

I have done everything coach has asked of me. I have been committed and I have worked extremely hard. If it is an open competition, then let’s have it that way from the start, if this is what this is.

To me Matt felt he was entitled the starting job for some reason.

According to Jurecki that talk happened today.

What I find hard to believe is how the coaches have taken the worst pass blocker from last year (Levi) & matched him up against most teams best pass blocker at LT regardless of the QB. Then we sign a already poor pass blocking LG (Faneca) to make the worst left side in all of the NFL. Prediction: Our starting QB will miss game(s) because of our terrible left side!!!

Yeah, we've covered the problem at OT in this thread as well. At least we can plug Wells in at Guard if Faneca sucks but we have major problems at both Tackle spots (Keith isn't looking ready yet, either).

Levi Brown blows. The Cardinals should retire #75 and instead of putting the number in the Ring of Honor, they should burn a Davis and Brown jersey at midfield.

If that's the case, then Whis should have had him out of Dodge LONG before this.

I think it's more likely they don't have much chemistry together...matt probably pusses around when he's with Whis because he's terrified of him, and Whis probably thinks Matt should man up and get with the program. Oil and water...that's my take.

If Whis comes in and says "Matt, take control of the effing huddle, get your people on the same page, you need to run this offense. Go downfield, don't worry about making mistakes" and Matt goes out and doesn't and then says "I'm playing well" then that's on Matt. If it happens again, then it's on Whis. If it happens again...it's on Whis. If it happens again...you get the point. BTW, if this is the case, it didn't just happen this year for the first time. Being a full-on idiot isn't something you wake up with....Matt should have been shipped out long ago if that's the case.
