I don't think the play calling is the issue, it's the execution. Wisenhunt's play calling isn't the reason for Warner's interceptions and fumbles. The play calling didn't cause the high passes and dropped balls.
I disagree. I think the playcalling/scheme is a huge issue at this point. At no point this year do I think the base offense has been effective much less successful. The offense doesn't look like it know what it's doing half the time and they never seem like they're on the same page. Players are always lined up in the wrong spot and if they aren't running the wrong routes, they're definitely not on the same page as the qb. The "improved" running game was still only averaging 3.8 yards per carry before today(22nd in the league) so, although the running game has improved from a complete non-factor to just ineffective, it hasn't got to the point of actually balancing out the offense or helping set up the pass.

if this was that game, what the hell was losing to that embarassing Carolina team?
at least in that game we were forced to use Ratty. The Cards still should've won but there was extenuating circumstances. Today there was no excuse.

To be honest, they looked a hell of a lot better against Carolina given the QB had been with the team for two days and was also named Tim Rattay.

I have no idea what I watched this afternoon though. No clue. That offense was abysmal.

Let's look at Whiz's great offensive accomplishments.

1. Destroyed Matt Leinart

2. Destroyed the passing game with Fitz and Boldin

Thats about it. What a joke. What a disgraceful performance. You suck ken.

Matt was long since destroyed before comin to AZ....He is an overrated, weak armed, not-too-bright, party boy.

Please, tell us how you feel. :bigyawn:

Well I was being sarcastic to a degree. But to say Whiz 'destroyed" him is ridiculous. Did Whiz destroy Rothlesbergr? Did Whis destroy Charlie Batch when he came in and played lights out for Pitt last year? There is nothing wrong with this base offense other than we dont haven the QB's to run it imo.

Warner is a TO Machine and Leinert has proved that he, well...he hasn't proved anything at all. He had a medicore year last year and an awful year to start this year. Whiz had nothing to do with that.

Ok, sarcasm noted. I think what Whis needs to do is get over his ***** for the Steelers. This team is not the Steelers. Matt is not Ben, Kurt is not Batch. Make what you have work, don't force square pegs into round holes. Sure, there have been coaches who can do that, but Whis hasn't shown he can do that. Matt had a pretty good rookie year. So let him be Matt. Kurt has shown what he is good at, let him be Kurt. Matt isn't ruined, but if Whis isn't willing to let people do what they do well, he will not succeed. Whis seems to suffer from the head in ass syndrome.

Did we run any off tackles runs today? The one glaring thing I noticed is that Edge ran into the pile almost every play when there was daylight on the outside numerous times.

The knock on Edge is that he no longer has the speed to go outside. We played the most predictable offense today. We failed our first 3 quarters worth of 3rd down conversions and had 30 something yards in the first half. Players can suck, but their performance was on more than just the players.

The only way to explain both James and Warner's play today was that someone printed Keith Rowen's game plans from last year and mistakenly gave them to Whiz.

This thread is pure stupidity

Saying this team was more prepared with McGinnis than Whis and that one longs for the day of Dave Krieg...well, I guess people here have pretty poor memories.

McGinnis team: Buc 45 Cards 3

Dave Krieg would have three fumbles and three picks throwing in desperation in an attempt of the impossible comeback.

I'm upset with this loss but come on guys?

Actually McGinnis was 3-0 coming back after a bye week. His only loss after a bye week came when their bye was the first week of the season.

So McGinnis' team would have won 13-7.

the only thing that I can remember about Krieg's tenure with us was that he was on tv series "Tool Time", I block out the rest

ok and would have loss every other game by a 20 something margin, LOL

That's being kind.

The 10 game stretch after he took over as head coach was the worst in the Super Bowl era for the Cardinals. Then just for good measure he tried to match it in 2003.

We used to think of 30-3 as a close game. :(

I think everybody is overreacting here. Whiz has had to deal with our starting QB being knocked out for the season, our backup QB being knocked out and now wearing an armbrace, and several key injuries on our newly revamped O-line that had only given up 8 sacks before yesterday. I think he's done fine with what he's had to deal with so far. We are 3-5 and could seriously be 7-1 or 6-2, we've been in every game! Let's see where we are in another 3 or 4 weeks, then let's talk again!

Pretty much my attitude. I'm shocked that we've become a society so much based on instant gratification that we can't have the patience to see what a whole season can bring to a first time head coach. Don't forget he's learning on the job too. Have some faith and have some patience.

Also I'm waiting for the obligatory "I've been waiting for X years response". Yeah yeah, we all have. They won't get better just because we're old and have nothing better to do than wish they'd win more.

I agree to a point.

But there is just cause for some serious, deep anger and frustration.

Where did our running game go ?

Where has our passing attack go, and actually it has never shown up all season, what is up with that ?

Where is the fight in this team ?

In another 3 or 4 weeks we will be 4-8 if we are lucky.

There were a lot of moves made this offseason to "win now" and now that we are not winning those decisions are moot, and dare I say wrong.

The fans have every right to be p'd off.

The O looked horrible yesterday, but we need to give Whiz time. Marinelli's Lions were a joke last year and this year its a different story.

No, but they can learn to not draft for need. Something that had seemed to change when Green was running the draft, but not anymore.
My Lord will you give it up. WE DIDN'T TAKE PETERSON. Deal with it!!!!!!!!!! Had we picked him he would be doing well, but not nearly as good as he is in Minn. Our line was the worst last year. The Vikes have one of the top 5 lines in the NFL.

Our team needs to be built still. Good teams build from the inside out, not the other way around. There have been no fans in the stands for years, so I am lead to believe the organization tried repetatively to bring in "sexy" skill position players while ingnoring most everything else to get butts in the seats. Either that or they are just stupid.

Levi was playing outstanding prior to his injury, and maybe we didn't get the best player possible, but most teams dont. Ray Lewis wasn't picked until the end of the first round. I bet the Titans would have liked to have him, but I doubt they are killing themselves over taking Eddie George. Brown has the look of a multiple Pro Bowl player, and I am satisfied with that.

I think you are being a bit too tough on the team here. How many teams in the NFL could still be good without their starting QB, both RTs and best two LBs and their LT, both safeties and best player (Boldin) at 75%?

NO reverses called, no misdirection.
ALL runs right up the gut.
NO imagination.
I'm not saying fire the guy, but where is some creativity?

Who on our team is fast enough to run those plays. Dont call for Breaton either because teams would key in on him during a play like that.
