It is still dead money. Just because the cap goes up doesnt make having millions in wasted space a good thing.

Dead money? It is an expenditure. Are you saying the Cards should pay for everything in the current year? They can't because of the CAP. Of course they could go back to the old days when their payroll was 20% of what it is now and have players with 20% of the talent this team has. I don't think any fan would enjoy that.

Are you saying the players we have aren't worth the money they are getting? What would you do differently?

That's not the company line. It's my personal opinion after 50 years of being a businessman. The Cards are one of the best financially run teams in the NFL. That's why the have the cash to have the highest payroll in the NFL last year and why they are able to adjust their CAP to meet just about any situation. Think about how it was just a few short years ago before the new stadium came on line and compare it to now. The difference is astounding.

As I said, I wasn't trying to pick a fight with you nor did I discount the point you made, I just had a laugh, that's all. If you don't have a laugh along the way you might as well slit your wrists, that's my opinion having owned a business most of my adult life as well.

btw, I'm hopeful that restructuring Colledge's contract turns out to be a sound business decision.:)

No, my point was when you start doing these kinds of restructuring with marginal talents (IE Colledge) who have a high likelihood of being released before their contract is up then you are creating dead money on your cap.

Like I said, I dont mind doing this with a guy like Larry who will almost certainly play out his contract, but when you do it with marginal talents on long term deals then you're playing with fire.

Because you watched so many Bills games when he was healthy and playing?

Id just like to point out Bell only played 7 games last year.. So Im guessing you didnt watch him play much last year either.. In fact only 1 out of his 4 years has he played every game.. His first year he played 0 games.. Second year he played 8 games.. Third year 16.. And last year he played 7.. Excuse me if Im not jumping for joy over an injury prone medicore OL..

Hes better than Levi, thats all that matters.

Also the Bills were 2nd best in QB sacks last year. LT is a pretty big part of that.

Was Bell really better than Levi? Bell couldnt stay on the field from injuries.. So knowing that, he doesnt really factor into the Bills 2nd best in QB sacks when he was on the sidelines half the time.. Does he?

Again.. I dont see the fuss about this guy..
