They were idiots to do all of that.

And his experience? He is an AWFUL Starting QB and even last year was a below average backup. That experience is meaningless when the overwhelming majority of it was bad to awful.

And they decided for 98% of the off-season, they were going with that trash to be their opening day starter. And now are facing starting a QB who will have what… ten days with the team and never even taken a pre-season snap to start the year… who they ALSO could have gotten much much earlier this season, but were literally a day late and a dollar short, continuing to show their lack of foresight there.
If they were going to have a washed QB in camp learning a new system they might as well brought in Matt Ryan. At least would be able to mentor guys like Kyler and Tune at a superior level than Colt (no disrespect, but one was a former MVP).

If they were always serious about Dobbs then they should have just paid the money.

I agree on several fronts.
The front office has been very tight lipped about the Kyler Murray return from injury.
This is a twofold issue.
If Kyler is not coming back anytime soon (or at all this season if some reports are true), I maintain that they should have went out in the offseason and got a qualify backup to hold down the fort (and Colt was not that guy).
If Kyler comes back earlier than everyone believes then, again, it was foolish to throw a 5th round pick at a late acquisition who probably does nothing for us in the short term.
So, either the foresight is truly lacking or they are purposely putting a bad product on the field.
So what you’re saying is they can do no right?

The plan was to tear it down to the studs and rebuild. Get rid of people who don't want to be with the Cardinals. Yes they are going to suck and they probably know that.
You're saying the same thing to excuse every move.

There is no universe in which the "plan" was to bring in Josh Dobbs 10 days before the start of the season.

It’s also kind of Hindsight, Maybe they would have if they knew McCoys arm was done?

I’m on record as saying I don’t care how much of Bidwill’s money is going for dead cap space. I don’t care if he has to live on peanut butter and jelly sandwich’s for the next two years.
Bottom line HE threw his money away the minute he signed Keim. Kingsbury to an extension.

Boo hoo.

Plans change. Plans are flexible. The plan was to start McCoy until Murray was ready. Until you get deeper into the off-season, you never know with moves like that. It takes actual games sometimes.

I find it funny the amount of handwringing and whining about shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. They were going to suck no matter what. This is inevitable.

Caleb will hold out or go back to school. He doesn’t want to be here based on what. I read. Thank Dingleberry for the inside scoop on how this organization is ran.
Meh...maybe. He's making $2.6 million from NIL....but $40+ million is a whole lot more. Just like everyone thought Murray would bolt to baseball, because if the Cardinals...haha

Make no mistake, though, I don't want Williams. I just don't see any type of holdout.

it's not hindsight if you had the foresight to say going with a washed, bashed up Colt as your stopgap starter was an recipe for complete and utter failure. And a lot of posters said this months ago.

I get that. But the reality is Colt only showed anything in the NFL in Kliff's system. It was kind of silly to put a 37 year old QB with no real success outside of with Kliff in that spot.

Cards are still winning outright in Washington! I'm not coming off that prediction. I think they'll lose a bunch of games after that, but for week 1, this will be the game where they are the most prepared and focused, IMO....and there's a crap ton of pressure on Rivera and Bieniemy. Let's also not forget, it's not like Washington is starting a high caliber QB, with Sam Howell.
Can I be your personal Cardinals bookie?

You forgot to add Murray to that extension group.

You judge plans based on the results - let's see how this plan ends up.

Dismiss everything as minimal and claim anyone with reservations is a worry wart. Good stuff!

Actually, Kingsbury probably did him a solid by letting him know how this organization is run.

I know for a fact it’s a complete crap show and have said so numerous times. Yet people don’t want to believe me.

It all starts at the top. There’s your main problem.

Outright releasing Hopkins w/ no compensation
Trading Simmons for a 7th round pick
Getting Dobbs for a 5th.
Waiting until just now to release Colt when it was obvious he wasnt any better than the younger alternatives

Monti is going to be the GM that teams want to trade with because they know he can be fleeced

I agre with you on players above but have to give him props for draft day manuevering/trades.

This idea that we can be completely inept at running the franchise because we are going to suck is so confusing to me. They didn't know he was smoked till the start of the regular season and that's okay........because we are going to suck.

Again, nobody is mad they released McCoy. I don't care they traded a 5th for Dobbs. The problem is they didn't do it a month ago. You gave a bunch of reps in camp to a guy who wasn't going to play on your football team. That is a failure. No way to spin it.
