Can I just add... you can't believe a word Arians says publicly? Wasn't it this time last year or maybe a bit earlier that he had us all believing that Stanton was going to be the starter? HAHAHAHAHA! Good times!
I really don't see him clearing waivers so IMO there is no way Thomas doesn't make the team this year. You don't spend a 4th round pick on a guy and even chance losing him to another team that same year.Lindley is #3 and Thomas is sent to the PS.
Well that statement came before the team got Palmer. However once Palmer got here he said from day 1 that Palmer was his starter. Then he backed that up by sticking with him despite very poor play for about the first 7 games of the season. Not a whole lot of coaches would have the patience and belief to stick with a guy playing that poorly. Can I just add... you can't believe a word Arians says publicly? I still like Stanton. I would have been happy with him under center insteadCan I just add... you can't believe a word Arians says publicly? Wasn't it this time last year or maybe a bit earlier that he had us all believing that Stanton was going to be the starter? HAHAHAHAHA! Good times!
If it is based on who the better player is on August 31, Ryan Lindley.
If it is based on who has the higher ceiling, Logan Thomas.
Likely so. Bit he HAS had a full year under the coaching of BA's QB coaching staff to better develop him rather than Whiz's garbage staff that coached him into ths player he was last yearReally? We spent a 7th round pick two years ago on Ryan Lindley. We spent a 4th round pick this year on Logan Thomas. Lindley was terrible when he played as a rookie and merely awful during his second preseason. He had no competition last year, and was still considered a bubble player in the Fight to 53.
If Logan Thomas isn't already a better player than Ryan Lindley, he was over-scouted by the Cards.

Not K9, but no he isn't eligible because he has more than 1 full season of NFL experience.Question K9, is Lindley practice squad eligible

If a player has one accrued season, they can still be practice squad eligible if they were on the 45-man active gameday roster for less than nine regular season games.
LOL McCarron was killing him on twitter, but the whole pointing to college championships to a 10 year veteran of the NFL seems kinda dumb.Darnell Dockett! BA is pretty firm on Drew at #2 - but DD may beat up any quality QB released by other teams- and take their milk money.

Dockett’s latest tweet has him resorting to name calling. The 31-year-old 290-pound NFL player also challenged the 210-pound McCarron to a fight.

Maybe, but at the same time, it's silly or unrealistic to say that he has a "full year" under the coaching of the staff. He's had a training camp and two offseason periods. The reality of the matter is that backups at all positions, but especially QBs, don't get much attention once the games start for real. Lindley was in the meeting rooms, but he was getting few if any reps and little if any feedback.
NFL Coaches have SEVERE time constraints, and every moment that they're spending working on a guy who doesn't play is one lost working on the guys who will. That's just the reality of life in the NFL.
