Not only a great OT win, but Mueller is clutch in the shootout. He scores just about every time.

21-18-1, 43 pts.

Here's some of my thoughts at this point in the season:

1. Carcillo spent most of the first half of the season committing stupid penalties. He's been out and the team has had less penalties and on a great run. Hope this sends a message to him. He's a good young goal scorer, but needs to get more disciplined.

2. It's becoming more clear which guys just aren't going to make it with this team. Although I like them both, I don't see Boynton and Sjostrom staying with the team beyond this season. Too many young guys coming up through the system (Wheeler, Porter, Turris, etc.) to keep Sjos around and Yandle should move in a starting role by next season.

3. This team needs to re-sign Bryzgalov and Vrbata as soon as possible. Vrbata has been a steal basically originating from the Peter Nedved free agent signing and trade for Seidenberg who was traded for Adams who was traded for Vrbata.

4. As much as I questioned the Coyotes dumping all those players last season at the deadline, they were good moves. Most of those guys (except for Comrie) are proving they weren't worth keeping a roster space open for them.

5. Bryzgalov and Tellqvist may be one of the best goaltending tandems in the league from a starter and backup perspective.

Huge win yesterday. The Coyotes are only four points out of the playoffs. Tough three road games coming up. It would be nice if they can get four points in the next three games.

1. Agree on Carcillo. I feel that his inability to stop taking penalties negates his very average offensive potential. With the penalty kill being the Coyotes biggest problem, they can't afford to keep a guy around who is going to spend half of any given game in the box.

2. Agree on Boynton, disagree on Sjostrom. Jones and Yandle are decent enough to push Boynton out of the picture where that money can be put to better use. Sjostrom on the other hand has just started to find his scoring touch, plus his speed and defense make him a valuable penalty killer and checking line player, should other players push him down the depth chart. Turris and Wheeler probably are sticking with college for another year, so I think Sjostrom gets another season with the team at least.

Agree on #3-5, well said.

2-0 Phoenix right now...on two beautiful goals!

Are we watching this team mature? Wow.

Bryzgalov is looking good tonight. It's now 3-0. This would be a huge win to start the road trip.

Fantastic win tonight against Calgary. The Coyotes are really on fire now having won five in a row. The next few games will be exciting to watch.

2 points out of the last playoff spot.

I live in Calgary now, and I must say that it was very nice to see the Coyotes come into town and play very well against the Flames. There has been so much talk around here about how well the Flames are playing it was nice to settle all of that excitement down.

Ok, I'm not going to jinx the team, but if the Coyotes win tonight in Edmonton and St. Louis loses to Dallas tonight, the Coyotes will be tied with St. Louis and Colorado with 47 points in the 8th place. St. Louis would be 8th, Phoenix 9th, and Colorado 10th because the first tie break is games played and St. Louis has played one less game than Phoenix.

Wow!

So amazing just to ponder that. I hope the Coyotes have a great second half and are able to avoid the three and four game losing streaks.

Luongo isn't playing tonight for the Canucks, the Coyotes have to take advantage.

Nice win tonight against a first place team on the road. This team is a great road team. If we can squeak into the playoffs we could upset someone.

Great way to bounce back tonight. Vancouver just couldn't handle the speed and checking of the Coyotes.

Jovanovski was hitting guys left and right all night. He dropped three in the span of a few seconds, then for once has the intelligence to not retaliate when a Canuck clotheslined him in return, then scored on the ensuing power play. Doan had a great hit near the Canuck crease to set up Mueller's outstanding goal, roofing it from close range.

This team is really starting to develop some chemistry. Winnik made a great pass while lying on his back to Doan, who managed to fire the puck to Kapanen who scored on the backhander. There were several times where the Coyotes managed to put together excellent shifts and kept sustained pressure in the offensive zone. They outworked Vancouver for much of the night, and they're going to need to keep doing that to have a shot at the playoffs.

Very nice win but that Edmonton loss kind of stings. After their game at Minnesota they have five straight home games, hopefully they can start playing better at home.

Tough loss tonight, Nash with a highlight reel score with 20 seconds left to beat the Coyotes.

Tellqvist embarrassed himself tonight on three of those goals. Terrible game for him. The Coyotes fought hard to get the tying goal with less than two minutes left in the game, but it was pretty clear that they weren't at their best with Vrbata and Reinprecht out. Losing those two points to Columbus (who before tonight was a point ahead of Phoenix) really hurts with the Coyotes looking for the 8th playoff spot.

I'm sure that Nash highlight will be on youtube in a few minutes, it was the goal of the year so far this season. Just too bad that distinction comes at the expense of the Coyotes, seems that happens frequently.

The Nash goal was unbelievable. That is easily one of the best goals I have ever seen. Its almost worth the loss to see that. He threw 5 jukes on that play. Unreal. Telly was helpless. Best goal since Ovechkin's on his back.
