Reed did his best to cough up another game... Great to see Ahmed developing and absorbing the intense coaching he is receiving! Of course, Goldy simply being Goldy... What a flat out stud! AJ out up a great game as well. In fact, 10 of the 12 hits by the Dbacks came from AJ, Goldy & Ahmed.
Burgos look solid as well!

Yep, nice to see Ahmed hitting. We need that in the back half of the lineup. We need to fill those holes. It makes everyone better.

Nice to see them winning. But, these extra inning games are really nerve racking. I've gotten where I can't hardly watch them play too much (blood pressure), so, I use the internet feeds.:-[ . Go Dbacks, beat Cubs.

Watched the highlights this morning, why would the Cubs try and sneak a fastball past Goldy who was the tying run? Was that Montero who called the pitch?

Good question. The other interesting fact here is both pollock and goldy got those hits behind in the count, both with 2 strikes. Pollock hit was placed perfectly and goldys was right in his wheelhouse. Basically it was bad 2 strike pitching from a dominate closer to good hitters

Well, it was either Miggie, the Pitcher shaking him off or the Bench.

I guess we'll never know.

Judging by where Montero setup that pitch was supposed to be low and away, rather than up and right in the middle.

These guys are terrible, and we have no closer. We really dont even have a solid setup guy.

What is Hernandez status?

However, not all doom and gloom. I see positive direction for this team, even after a loss. Starting to see Larussa's fingerprints everywhere where there is improvement.

As per the bullpen, well, cant fix everything in a year but I have hope for the future.

Golden age for first baseman when you consider Goldschmidt, Hosmer and Rizzo over the next 10 years. That's not including Gonzalez and Cabrera who are 1-2 in WAR at the position.

Hernandez tweeted he hopes to be in St. Louis with the team.

Bullpen definitely is the problem. Don't really have a closer.

The D'backs may have found their closer in Enrique Burgos. He is a work in progress as he has only been a reliever for a couple seasons and was in high A ball last year.
