Manning>Kolb>Skelton, I am sure Fitz feels the same way. Skelton appears to be more durable, but Kolb is way more game ready. IMO, doesn't much matter unless we get a line and a healthy (literally) running game.
Larry in 8 games with Kolb 658 yards, 2 TD
Larry in 8 games with Skelton 753 yards, 5 TD

Exactly, an when you factor in that Skelton throws (truly) "a lot" more down field passes then it wipes away a lot of said "accuracy".

Kolb averages almost a full yard more per attempt. Doesn't back up this statement.

Panic is the worst thing the Cards can do. Both are young QB's and this will be their FULL OFFSEASON with the team. Let's see how it plays out and go into the season with a clear vision over who is the best QB. If it turns out that neither is a post season QB, so be it. Time to go in a different direction, but at least we'll know. Now is NOT a time to panic. JMO.

Young? Isn't Kolb entering his 8th or 9th season this year? He is not a prospect anymore. He should be in his prime and not getting any better. Rookies straight out of college with no training camp looked better than he did.

Here's my question... if the Cards cut Kolb to avoid paying him the $7 million bonus & then PM doesn't choose the Cardinals, can the Cards resign Kolb to a more reasonable contract?

Of course this is assuming he hasn't signed somewhere else or isn't completely pissed at the Cardinals organization for cutting him.

In all likelyhood, if he's paid his bonus & on the Cards next season then there's a pretty good chance that he'll just be a highly overpaid backup QB with Skelton starting. It's a pretty big risk to take when that money could be better spent on some Offensive Tackles, 2nd WR, Pass rushing OLB, CB (after losing Marshall), etc.

I'm sure he wouldn't be at all upset that the organization flirted with someone else, cut him, and then wants to bring him in for a lot less money. If you saw your boss interviewing your replacement, then he fires you, then he wants to re-hire you for half of your salary, you'd sign right up for that, right?!

At the same time, the guy didn't perform up to the contract he was given. He's scheduled to make $10 million this season and $12-13 million the next 3 seasons after that. That's a ridiculous amount of money for a backup QB. Maybe with a full offseason then he can turn into a QB worth that salary, but I wouldn't bet my $10 million on it.

I'd expect him to sign for a lot less than half his salary... probably a 2 yr deal worth $4 mil. :)

It has happened before though... look at Duece Lutui last season.

Via text, Kevin Kolb declined comment today on the Cardinals QB situation. He will continue to lay low and see what happens.

Close. 6th. I wasn't sure, so I took 10 seconds and figured it out with a google search, so that I wouldn't post something that makes me look uninformed.

I don't have any stats to back it up, but from observation, Skelton seems to be at his best when he gets to open up the passing game such as in the second half of games. Sometimes I think Skelton is either too tentative (thinks too much) in the first half of games or he is limited by game planning. I think his deep ball opens up defenses.

He may very well get cut and end up with that kind of salary, but it wouldn't be with us.

Kolb would do what anyone would do in the situation and take the most money. He might be a little upset to lose out on his undeserved millions but hopefully he could put on his big boy pants and deal with a 4 mil a year contract.

Wait, what am I talking about. Hopefully he does throw a hissy fit and wont return, because any money used on him is dead money.

Ya'll thinking the Cards are going to roll the dice with Skelton and Bartel are CRAZY.

It ain't happening.

Rewatch the tape. Kolb when healthy looked good enough...add to it a full offseason and we are a better team.

Skelton was a nightmare for 3 quarters....expecting him to fix all the issues he has would be a miracle.

A losing season and Whis is going to be on the hot seat. He ain't going to ride Skelly to the grave.

I agree. People need to get off that dream! Unless PM is here, Kolb is going nowhere this year. JMHO

And if Kolb is the starter neither are the Cardinals.

Maybe so...but they're going nowhere with Skelton either. Skelton has better pocket presence, but some of his decisions & crazy erratic throws lead me to believe he sux more. Skelton has some skills, but he easily could've thrown 20+ picks last year. I'm giving Kolb 1 more year.

For Kolb to play 1 year's worth of games we might have to extend his contract.

6-2 says otherwise.

How about Hasselbeck?
it s all about manning now..if he goes to tennesee hasselabck will be an option but i dont think they like him cause probably they could try to get him last season..i heard on twitter that gerrard said he fully recovery from the injury and already had a hand full of teams calling his agent
