Who are you rooting for?

I think I would prefer the Spurs in the next round.

Especially if Robin can be back, he'd impact that series a lot more than a Dallas series.

I prefer dallas vs. suns. before roy was injured I was actually scared of the blazers more than the spurs and other WC teams outside of LA. beating the spurs will be tough though. they are playing very well.

I think beating the Spurs this year is quiet easy. Only Ginobili scares me a little.

Duncan is far from the force he was in previous series against us especially on the boards and as an inside presence.

I agree about duncan. He's not the force that he once was. I got killed by spurs fans that I know for saying that dirk is the best player in this series. But TD is more than 2-3 years past his prime. Still a force, and the spurs are always a threat when their big 3 is open(as barkley pointed out). but they need their big 3 to be super all the time and they don't have the supporting cast that they once had.

No Spurs, please. I don't want the Suns to face the Spurs until Duncan, Manu and Parker are retired.

when just considering the spurs vs mavs, im rooting for dallas.

but when it comes to the 2nd round, i'd rather be facing the spurs.

i was pretty confident about the suns going into this weekend,
but after the lakers getting bynum back into action
and watching spurs/mavs(they both look good), im a little concerned.

jazz/nugz/okc/portland dont worry me too much at all.

Something tells me the Suns don't have to worry about the outcome of this series.

I said before the playoffs the Spurs... but who freaking knows. Bottom line? I want both them and dallas to beat the hell out of each other so we can pick apart what's left of them after.

Seeing Timmy, Manu and Parker all getting it going though scares the crap out of me. That being said, the Mavs size scares me too.

who are we kidding? we know we're gonna play the spurs again.

would the suns play the spurs if the spurs win this series? or would they play the jazz/nuggets winner? I would have thought the latter but the NBA seedings always confuse me as they change over time.

I wouldn't count the mavs out just yet. I know things look bleak now with the personnel decisions that were made tonight. I can't imagine they have a happy lockeroom with the starters getting benched like that. But they still hung tough in that game. If they can pull out a win in game 4 they have a new series with 2 of the 3 games at home.

I just hope that the mavs coach uses kidd as a 1 not a 3. the guy is 37 and he is trying to make him guard 2's and 3's for long spells(over 2 quarters). pothetic....i can understand doing it for a small stretch to exploit a mismatch or light a spark..but for 2.5 quarters???..what would you guys be saying if phoenix were doing this to their backcourt?

I WISH that's the way it worked... sadly, the brackets stay the same no matter what happens.

yeah, I thought it was a pretty strange strategy. and I don't think it's over... I just the Suns are just destined to get punked by the Spurs throughout history, thus, a second round matchup with them is in the stars.

oh well....for what it's worth I would much rather see the mavs play the suns than the spurs play the suns. in fact I would rather see the mavs lose to the suns or lakers than the spurs. I respect the spurs, but I just hate that the mavs could lose to them when they've proven to have their number....especially when you see that they cannot guard dirk to save their life without a double team. If dirk could just get some type of consistent help this series would be in the bag. I think the coach has to eat this game 3 loss for his blunderous decisions. I was screaming at my tv for a sub for over an hour!! it was frustrating.

It's hilarious that the Spurs play this cat-and-mouse game every single year and that, every single year, most of the media fall for it. Every. Single. Year.

Just a couple of weeks before the season ended, I put a bet on the Spurs at 20:1 to come out of the West. Do I think they're going to the Finals, no, probably not, but they have better than a puncher's chance. I couldn't believe the odds were that generous. Now they're two home wins away from getting past Dallas, of course they'll take out the Suns again, and that already puts them in the conference finals.

It's very simple: The Spurs are contenders until Duncan retires.

If we both get to the 2nd round, the Suns beat them, going to be tough but they need Lopez Collins just dont cut it. This Blazers series is a good way for the Suns to prepare for the Spurms. I hope they win in Portland today and make it easier for themselves in the second round

i gotta tell you, I think the "Mavs have the Spurs number" thing is a bit of an over-statement. There was a razor thin difference in one series four years ago where the Spurs were actually winning Game 7 in the closing seconds before an all-time dumb move by Manu fouling Dirk on a layup while up 3 and last year, beating a Manu-less Spurs team doesn't really show much of anything. It's been proven throughout the years that as Manu goes, so go the Spurs.

Really, what you have is the Mavs haven taken one series from them, by the skin of their teeth, four years ago. That doesn't say to me "has someone's number". Do they play them tougher than the Suns? Sure. But that's not saying much considering we're they're complete and utter bitch.

I'm talking about head to head going back to 2005 time frame(really ironically since nash left and dirk elevated his game). before nash left the mavs couldn't sniff the spurs' jock strap. Yes I admit that the 7 game series was razor thin. I try to remind folks...as close as that series was....dirk missing a wide open layup(albeit while having his jersey pulled out from his pants) at the buzzer of game 5 could have shut the door on the spurs much earlier in that one. then there was also a suspension(well deserved for punching finley in the groin) to jason terry in game 6 in one that the mavs still lost in a very close game. To the mavs credit they overcame those meltdowns and beat a team in their own building in game 7. You can't really knock manu too much for his foul on dirk...manu carried them to that 4th qtr comeback that fell just short.

Nevertheless, while it has been a tough one, the mavs have had the best of SA over these years. There have been other teams that have given dallas more problems. like golden state or the utah jazz. la lakers with gasol obviously have been rough, but who else has beaten those guys?

Has a team ever won a championship not having home court in any series?

Duncan's averaging 25 points a game.

So?

0-7 FG 0-2 FT at halftime.

He had ONE block in the 4 games so far. 8 assists and 11 turnovers.

Duncan is way over the hill, nowhere near as good as in the last series against Phoenix.
