The Rockets won one of theirs as a #6 seed, so probably.

A 6 seed? Wow! Makes you wish the Suns could have played them that year. Could you just imagine what Barkley and gang could have done to them.

This series is over.

i'm having flashbacks to suns vs. spurs in san antonio 2005/2007 watching this (sans game 4 4th qtr 2007, one of the greatest suns moments ever until... oh screw it).

I'm rooting for the spurs then I remember what I hate about, manu flopping like a soccer player and pop jumping off the bench like a fake tough guy.

I really hate to feel that I'm coming anywhere close to rooting for the Spurs, but DAMN it's so much fun to see DAL imploding like this - even if it is to the Spurs. I can't tell if this is funnier or DAL's loss to the 8th seed GSW a couple years back. On top of that, you get the bonus benefit of seeing JET's sad, hobo face and Dirk's incredulous, whiny face....

Am I alone on this?

Seeing either of them lose is nice. Seeing them beat up each other is nicer.

Dallas should just throw the ball into Manu's ugly mug hard, hit him right on that nose. That's not an illegal play and would be an adequate measure against the usual dirty Spurs tactics.

Has a team ever won a championship not having home court in any series?

that 2nd back to back Rockets team who we had dead to rights, down 3-1, Barkley at the line to clinch game 5 but he missed both FTs... they hit a three to tie it, Wes Person's three at the buzzer barley rimmed out and we went on to get crushed in OT and then lose the next two, ending with Elie's "Kiss of Death".

That Rockets team was a 6 seed who beat a 60 win Jazz team, a 59 win Suns Team, a 62 win Spurs team and a 57 win Magic team... ALL on the road. A run for ages.

jesus man, this is just bush league crap. All the thugs who used to play dirty against us are long gone on this Spurs team.

Really? I still see Pop and Manu a Manu.

Maybe you missed Richard Jefferson smacking Dirk right in the face too. And uh didn't he commit a flagrant against us as well last game?

It's not individual players that make them dirty, it is the identity of their team. Robert Horry wasn't dirty before slamming Nash in the scorers table either.

Manu's no more dirty than Danny Ainge was back in the day... or Raja Bell. I got no problems with those type of players.

and Jefferson... dirty? Dude's soft as tissue paper. Playoffs aren't for pansies. People get knocked down. The sooner the Suns realize that's how it's played, the sooner we might actually win something.

oh, and anyone who thinks the Spurs are done... seeing how George Hill has blossomed this season and how well they played while Parker was injured, they have a HUGE piece to make a big trade this summer. Everyone's worst nightmare on this board... Bosh and Duncan = Twin Towers 2. If Bosh threatens to leave, the Raptors ain't gonna get anything better than Parker in exchange for him.

It's always hilarious to hear barkley talk about sphincter's getting tight and guys gagging, those free throws were the ultimate example of a guy getting tight.

Plus Duncan's whiny "I never commit fouls" face that is dirty alone.

right... like Nash's "I got fouled every time" face isn't just as annoying.

sorry man a) wishing injury on others is ridiculously lame and b) this Spurs team just ain't that team who used to completely thug us up. If you were talking about Horry or Bowen getting a kick to groin I'd be there with you. But that time is over and done.

I wish we get the Spurs next round should we make it with Robin back.

Duncan is not much of a factor defensively anymore, can't move his feet and can't get off the floor. On offense he doesn't require double teams anymore. If we can't beat them this year we never will.

i so clearly remember that game. I remember losing and my Dad taking me to the airport to fly to meet Ouchie in DC where I was going to help him move back across the country... and there was just this complete and utter sense of dread that there was no way we were gonna win that series. That Houston would punk us again. Sky Harbor felt like a morgue. Sickening feeling.

And then the first half of Game 6 made that feeling go away. Anyone remember how INSANE Barkley was the first half of that game? He was like Lebron James, splitting double teams to dunk on everyone. I think he had 27 first half points and we were up 10 and kicking ass. Then, he dunked in third, landed on Elie's foot which banged up his knee. He went out, struggled from thereon in and we got our asses kicked in the second half.

Game 7... Oy. I remember Barkley hobbling around... Joe Klein hitting a three and then at the commercial they showed the replay of him running back down the court yelling "Not in our house!" It was right there that I knew we were going to lose. Joe Klein... playing any kind of minutes... in a Game 7.

That was the series that tore my heart out. More than anything else. That Spurs team next was so damn soft and that Magic team just too young.

Ugh.

If the lakers get knocked out, the spurs are the lakers bitch, spurs might get to the finals this year.

but:

a) comparing parker to hill, come on. tony parker the guy who murders us and can get a layup anytime he wants. his skillset is much more dangerous than hill's.
giving him up for bosh isn't a no lose for spurs. plus bosh is going somewhere with one of his guys, likely wade.

b) twin towers 2? duncan is still an all star but on his last legs, he is 1-9 4pts in this game. he can barely elevate.

spurs era is closing. it was a dominating era, but i don't see s.a. being that desireable to free agents post duncan.

and realistically if not for tanking and ping pong balls in 1997 there would have been no era.

We must be talking about a different player then because Ginobili is the epitome of a dirty player.

Slin, you're on a different planet if you think Ginobli is any worse than Ainge or Raja. Is he an annoying player? Yes, but he doesn't go out to injure people.

agreed. but I think Pop would easily give up Parker's offense for George's defense and Bosh's everything. Dude won a title with Avery Johnson at pg then a motley crew combo of a 19 year old rookie Parker and Speedy Claxton. If he could put Bosh together with Duncan and Manu, that team could still be a serious contender for another 4 years.

I don't know. I've heard rumblings of this going down in the off-season on the radio a couple times out here in LA.

so was David Robinson when they won their last title.

They're also getting Splitter next season who's supposed to be another impact euro.

Just saying, this team has a big piece they can move to stay in the race.
