Bevell was the guy who scouted Russel wilson for seattle.

Don’t sell Bevell short, I think he’s more creative than McCoy. It wasn’t all Russell Wilson. Fix the Oline & give him a great QB & we’re off to the races. We’ve got a RB who can dominate games.

Agree with Buckybird that Bevell got way more out of the Seahawk O roster than one would expect simply looking at the talent. All the Seahawk bucks went into their dominate D with the OL and WRs as afterthoughts.

Problem is our O talent has been build around a stationary pocket passer. Big dinosaur OL guys who will defend a spot (but not mobile enough to defend a scrambling QB), smurf WRs who stretch the field (but not heavy dudes who can fight in the middle of the field and come open for a scrambling QB). Bevell would bring a Beast-mode mentality to the running game with both DJ and AP on the roster. Maybe get more from our TE's over BA's use of them in the passing game.

I really wish we could somehow get our hands on Sony Michel. It’s not a big need, but he can do things similar to DJ & it keeps him fresh & not overused during the 16 game pounding. This kid will be an absolute stud in the NFL. If he’s available in Rd 2, I’d jump all over him despite our other needs

When Russell Wilson arrived Bevell seemed like a genius. Great game plans and execution. However, their OL got worse, Marshawn Lynch retired and it officially became The Russell Wilson Show. Anytime they moved the ball it was Wilson improvizing rather than offensive scheming. I like Bevell's offense in general, some really good concepts in there. But they haven't been clicking for about three seasons. It seems that anything Bevell dialed up didn't work, and on important downs Wilson just did his thing. Remember their last four games against us, their offense as a whole hasn't been hurting us in a long time. Bad OL or not, good coaching and scheming could've certainly helped them. I like Bevell more than McCoy for us, but I like DeFilippo, Haley or Shula more. All of them had success recently and can scheme out opponents. Bevell's work with Russell Wilson early on deserves some praise, but Wilson has been masking their issues very well in recent years. Without the elite QB Wilson undoubtedly is, their offense would be right among the worst in the league. Somewhat lucky Wilson didn't miss extended time yet with all the hits he takes. Our backup QBs did somewhat okay after Palmer went down. Nothing special but certainly not worst in the league. I'd imagine Seattle without Wilson would've been a brutal sh** show. Really questioning if Bevell is the right choice for us. Maybe if we plan to go down the mobile QB road Bevell can help initially, so that might be his edge.

The two things that would make me excited about Bevell would be his familiarity with the division, and anything he can tell us about Russell Wilson to knock the guy off his game.

But going forward, I'm more concerned about the Rams and the 49ers... so that's a little iffy. I have mixed feelings on McCoy - years ago I thought he was a genius, now I don't feel the same way that I used to.

Begs the question: What kind of QBOF (pocket, scramble, zone-read etc.) will we seek in the draft? What will our base offense look like?

True, they did well, but Marshawn seemed to be the Lynch-pin...with him, the offense just did so much better, it seemed.

this past season was really the first time they used Graham,...shocking considering what they traded for him...dude just disappeared.
but he was in a contract year so was it the offense or was it Graham?

Seattle's OL might have been the worst in the league the past few years. Losing Unger was a bad mistake. They probably should have passed on Graham, as their TE's were servicable. Pretty much like ours right now.

Being a local kid works in Bevells favor, as well as game planning in this division and being well familiar and preparing for said divisional rivals.

Again it's about finding a longer term solution and continuity in the coaching changes. He's got a fresh opportunity here with a very good opportunity to work with the new incoming QB as well as groom one. Great opportunity here right now to impact the next five seasons and beyond.

Didn't Seattle have this weird thing where Cable was OL and in charge of the running game while Bevell retained the OC title? Seems like a difficult way to do your job as the coordinator.

If Bevell can produce another Wilson for us, that is more than anyone can ask.

Don't forget, Bevell won one SB and ... yeah maybe he made the call or Pete ... lost one, but he was twice in it till the end, more than we can say about BA and his staff.

Yes, Wilson is a great scrambler and a improviser, but and that is a big but, he in my eyes never was a great QB, he is average and nothing more. I'm still not sold on the move Seattle made and I'm not sold that Bevell was the problem. The Oline and the talent given was a big problem. If your starting LT is a cast off from the Cardinals as a coach you are in trouble.

And that the seachickens drafted ... quite bad and let talent on O go, is an old story.

Graham was great with Brees a bona fide Hall of Fame QB that plays on a different level than Wilson. Wilson often didn't see Graham who was open and Graham should never ever consider going back to Seattle, I loled when the seachickens traded for Graham and a loled for what Graham asked from the saints. Saints showed him, that he isn't all that great without Brees and that he isn't on par with Gronk. And even Gronk isn't worth WR money (too much injuries and I'm not sold on him to make that impact on a team without Brady). Yes Brady is GOAT and even if you hate him you have to aknowledge that he is better than any other QB next tier is Brees and Rodgers and from that step there is Roethlisberger and maybe Luck(probably isn't anymore).

So don't dismiss Bevell, he maybe is way better than you think and yes he did poor against us, but so did many other offensive cooridnators not using there Backup QB. (and yes that was a thing against the BA Cardinals).
