I would've kept him through camp to see if he can play. That wouldn't have hurt a thing. If he could play, he helps. If he couldn't, you still cut him and get cap space.

I guess there's always the chance he was a complete ass in the meeting too.

Disappointing. I thought it best to at least see what he looks like on the field. I hope they arent releasing him for his benefit. We shouldve held him hostage.

Oh well, that chapter is closed.
Sometimes, sticking to your guns & showing a troubled player he's not bigger than the team & cutting a player turns there life around. Ask Chris Carter about Buddy Ryan cutting his ass of the Iggles.

Michael did the right thing for the Arizona Cardinals & Dweed no ifs & or buts about it!!!

So it looks like we wanted him back, but wanted to pay him much less. PFT is saying they had a source that said they couldn't come to an agreement on $$$.

Now he'll go see whats there in the open market. I don't think we can rule out a return if no one wants to sign him. It'll be interesting to see what other teams do.

Obviously though our FO is fine with not having him.

DWash reminds me of Richard Dumas. What a waste of talent.

Exactly my thoughts as well. Loved Richard Dumas. What an exciting player he was until he chose a pile of coke over a 3 mil contract. What shame and waste of talent.
Drugs are a helluva thing.

Lets not hope thats the example.

CC then went on to be a HOFr elsewhere. He credits Ryan cutting him for waking him up.

D-Wash was an albatross.

The primary focus of this off-season has been in redeveloping and reshaping the character of the football team. Hanging on to D-Wash would have deviated from the focus.

The Cardinals of old would likely have acted out of desperation. Those days are gone. Makes me proud.

Someone posted on twitter that if he signs somewhere else, it is a 2nd chance. If AZ keeps him, it is enabling the behavior. I can't really argue that viewpoint. Hopefully he gets his life together. I don't worry at all about his career moving forward either way.

Well said Mitch!!

What a breath of fresh air Michael & Keim have brought to this team. Winning requires tough decisions & IMO this an easy decision for these 2!!! The fire burns deep inside those 2 gentleman to win the Super Bowl title for this team. Btw Keim promised me in Miami over a few beers last year I would see it in my lifetime & I believe him.

Wow, didn't expect to see this news today.

My opinion, he still sees himself as an elite athlete, and expected to keep his current contract. Whatever bonus he did receive, I'm betting is mostly gone by now.

I was ok with letting him hang around through training camp to see if he could offer anything, but I applaud Michael Bidwill for taking the high-ground here, when it isn't an easy choice to make.

Let him go disappoint someone else, I'm done.

Go Cards!!!

Thankfully this whole weird saga is finally over. I'm glad we finally have some closure.

I don't think it's quite over, yet. The next chapter is seeing where he goes next and how he performs there, especially if he signs within the division.

Disagree. The Cardinals of old never took risks on players with character issues. This regime takes calculated risks. The Cards of old would've never taken Badger.

As for D-Wash, if the reports are true about him not being flexible with his contract, shame on him. He isn't in a place of power to negotiate and needed to prove himself again to the team.

I am glad he is gone. I wish him luck and feel hopeful he has straightened his life out. However we have enough talent at LB and can't chance that a guy who hasn't played in three years should take anyones place. We will save about 3 Million on the cap, good for us.
