I don't think there will be any major coaching change in midstream.
I do think Mac realizes that he has to take the bull by the horns and be proactive about stuff that isn't working so well. I also think the players are piping up. So here's what I predict.
1. A changeover to a 3-4 on defense. (Hayes would play next to McKinnon inside in the 3-4). Defense would be hell-for-leather schemes. (The 4-6 also an outside possibility). Remember - both King and Bryant figure to be finally healthy, which would give Mac more flexibility to make the change.
An outside possibility that Fitzgerald is moved up to either replace Marmie or become his assistant DC.
2. Either Sully stepping down as OC or Marty Galbraith stepping up to replace Sully or be his assistant.
3. Kendall to LG. Garcia to C. Outside possibility that Spikes moves to RG and Leonard shifts over to RT.
4. Blake remains our starting QB at least through Week 10.
The comment about Bidwill firing everyone now because "he watches ESPN" does not, when you think about it, make very much sense, because the way those guys operate, they'll tar and feather Bidwill no matter what he does (If he doesn't make the change, he'll be called an idiot for permitting the situation to continue. If he were to make wholesale changes, he'd be ripped for "keeping the revolving door going" just as he has for the past 3 decades).
The smart thing for Mr. B to do would be to let Mac do whatever it takes to get the ship righted. (If Mac has been prevented from making certain moves, let him make them now). Then regroup after the season and, if a change is still merited, make it in some sort of organized, rational manner.
