Per NFLN, Najeh Davenport has reported said that he would like to play for either Arizona or Detriot this year.

Does anyone think he could take over as the FB, as he has plenty of size??

I know Green bay drafted him to play there, but quickly moved him back to HB his first or second year. He is definately more of a runner than a blocker and since we have a couple of FB and are paper thin at RB, I can't see us using him at FB

Why would his first two choices be two of the NFL's longest-tenured losers?

I'm hoping the culture of losing is changing, and if he'd said just AZ I woulda bought it, but with AZ and DET on the board I've gotta think those are the only two teams that have called him.

If the cards sign Davenport do you think they would cut Shipp or Arrington right away?

That would be a great battle if we go to camp with Davenport,Arrington,Hightower, and Shipp....:D

They'll have to cut someone. Remember that once all the draft picks gets signed, they'll have to cut two players. So it Dookie signs that'll move up to three.

I would say cut Shipp straight away - hate to say him over JJ but Shipp has very little to offer sides being a good all round bloke it seems, at least JJ is light on his feet (prob from that pea sized heart he has)

Shipp is also good whiffing on punt blocking too.

Najeh was also quoted as saying he loved Shipp and the UofP was a great stadium with a great field.

For him to poop on.

They could cut Shipp now to try and help him get on another team before training camp starts. Or they can keep him for training camp and let the best men win and cut another RB that most likely has no shot what so ever in Chris Vincent or Steve Blaylark.

Cutting Shipp would save a lot of money if they want to have the ability to front load any new possible Warner or Dansby deal.

All the more reason to let go of Shipp. It's hard to believe he makes almost 2 million but has had almost zero contributions to this team in the past two years. If he rushes for 41 yards again like he has the past two seasons, they'd be paying him over $42,000 a yard.

Because there is opportunity at both teams, yet both teams somehow look poised to improve over recent history, possibly even the playoffs. Would you rather be a backup on the Cowboys or a backup on a team with tons of talent, a good passing attack and 1) an aging RB with no depth behind him or 2) a team simply without a RB.

Because he's a dumper. And maybe just maybe they are really impressed with what they have seen in Hightower so fay? Iffy but you never know. Especially since no real contact has been allowed as of yet.

How can you have no interest????????????? :bang:

I wanted him too. It does seem strange there doesn't appear to be much of a market for him. Makes me question my judgment.

We'll see if he gets any offers at all.

Good call by Graves. We don't have any use for Davenport, he's a sub par running back that can't block. Let Detroit have him.
