Prado's salary is 11 mil for 2014-2016.
Ross is due to make 9.5 mil for 2014-2016.
Trumbo is 4.8 mil this year.
Hill is 11 mil in 2014 and 12 mil in 2015 and 2016
Montero is 10 mil in 2014, 12 mil 2015 and 14 mil in 2016 and 2017
Cahill is 7.9 mil in 2014, 12.2 mil in 2015, 13 mil in 2016 and 13.5 mil in 2017
No wonder Towers is one of the most respected GMs in the league. I have to go throw up.

Just a year or so ago, people on here were telling me the Dbacks were small market and didn't have the money to spend on players.

Perhaps they weren't saying that the D-backs didn't have the money, just didn't spend the money.

I guess it's now . . . didn't spend the money wisely.


We read recently that the Padres want Kevin Towers back to be a super-overseer like Tony LaRussa. If that is the case, I wonder why he is still here.

LaRussa could make the GM decisions for the rest of the season with an Assistant GM doing the legwork, without pretending that Towers is still in charge. Especially if, with apologies to Tony Bennett, he left his heart in San Diego. :)
