I know some us have tried using reverse psychology in game day threads but at the same time we have a thread about our magic number for the playoffs that was started back in May and has 111 posts.

I think the latter (along with Bert's selfie at Chase Field) has been our downfall.

Now on July 15 the Dbacks are about to fall to 53 and 38.



This would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

It is not about mojo. It is about out-managing your opponent. Clearly, Delgado threw a lot of pitches and would not be at his best.

I was shouting that at the screen when he threw an easy pitch to their weakest hitter and, poof, a 3-run bases clearing double.

I turned off the TV after that. Our inexperienced Manager has good points, but strategizing is evidently not one of them.

One night he stubbornly leaves his starter in too long because of his 7-inning rule. The next night he hangs a reliever out to dry.

Showing confidence in your pitchers is one thing. But knowing when it's better to go to your bench or bullpen is another.

I just want this skid to end. I never thought we had the best team but we are better than this. I hope we turn this around 10:30am tomorrow.

I wish it were as simple as blaming me but I've been to 6 or 7 games this season.

But if that makes you guys feel better, I can take it.



This game was really weird. It felt like the Dbacks, especially in the top of the 6th when we finally got the wheel turning. Descalso and Goldy driving in runs to give us the lead had me thinking we were finally waking up.

Then Delgado, who is like Jekyll and Hyde this season, just imploded. I knew the bullpen was overperforming at one point, but Rodney before the break, Archie the last couple outings and Delgado melting down,,,, what happened to these guys?

You know what would be amazing? If Yaz would come back and play like he played the 2nd half of last season. If he could make that happen anytime soon, that'd be great. This team needs a fresh (live) bat STAT.

They should try 80's Mets style in for this getaway game. Don't let the team go to bed tonight... Just send them to drink in the bar and hang with party people until sunrise. Go back to the hotel to cheat on their wives and shower (fielders choice on the order), oh and do a big pile of blow and then play the 10:35am game!!!!

I'm just sayin, they need a kick in the pants, who knows right?

Let's give Zack Godley a hit of LSD and watch what happens.
