Problem is, I really don't see how they can fix any of my this next year. With a bare farm system and being a small market team they aren't going to be able to make trades or spend money on improving the pitching staff as a whole. We are really in bad shape.

Read an interesting rumor LAD were interested in re-acquiring Greinke at Wednesday's waiver wire deadline.

First, I tried to give Greinke the benefit of the doubt -- he was facing a Dodgers team who knows everything about him, especially their Catchers who could pass it on to the rest of the team, better than any Coach could.

Then I found myself thinking that Greinke wanted to be #1 at all costs, having turned down both the Dodgers and Giants where he would have been # 1A.

Then I considered that he has a reputation of being a perfectionist. And that he realized he is now the ace of a pitching staff , the rest of which has no skills above AAA -- starting or relieving -- and no one to protect Goldy in the lineup, just a bunch of .270 hot-and-cold hitters.

And an inexperienced Grand Wazool of Baseball Operations and an inexperienced General Manager both of whom have proven the Peter Principle , "In a heriarcy every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence".

I bet he wishes he were back with the Dodgers or with the Giants now. And with his obsessive personality, that can eat away at a person. And affect his performance. Especially since the D-backs have made it clear that they are not trading him.

Greinke's obsessive personality affecting his starts, Shelby Miller unable to cope with massive price he cost his new team affecting his starts, Daniel Hudson unable to deal with being on the trading block and imploding...Good lord! Sounds like the team needs a few psychiatrists on speed dial with all the mental issues swirling in that clubhouse.

The amount of excuses given this year are nauseating.

I think its how they prepare mentally, and that the pitching coach should share a lot of the blame..

RR has a lot of potential. I really believe he just needs a great pitching coach to go the next level.
