Brewers lose... Got a chance to take our lead over them back to 6 games if we can somehow pull out a win today...

Unbelievable... how can you blow a run down when the runner had actually given up!!! Yet another error... amazing...

And the Giants convert that error into two more runs...
Gonna have to be Goldy once again, or else...
Corbin looking like he might not make it out of the 5th... though Torey hasn't gotten anyone up in the pen...

I don't get how they played so well the first few months and have just done nothing the rest. How can that happen? How can a whole team go cold like that.

What's their record with and without pollock? Just curious.

A lot better without. It's all crazy.

Not sure about the record with/without Pollock... But since mid/late June, the entire team except Goldy has trended down.
The starting pitching has actually been relatively consistent... certainly good enough to produce a crapload more W's than what we have gotten over the past 45 days or so...
But we just can't get any consistency at the plate, especially with runners on.

Not getting home guys is our number one problem. Pitching has been pretty good. Is this just a phase we are going through or is this who we are? We shall see.

The only good that came out of today was the CO lost to. So they didn't gain any ground.

To be fair Corbin is extremely consistent, and that's what a lot of people want.... So you know what you are going to get with him lol. I'm going to pretend that's a good way to look at it.
You know what you get from running a red light, too. A major accident. 'Rather not pretend. :)

Why is Heremann still employed?
Herrmann has to have the lowest pinch hitting batting average in all of baseball.

He's still employed because he is a lefty hitter and can play various positions -- badly.

It sounds good until he's standing at the plate as a pinch hitter or position player. And the best you can hope for is a walk.

TL's idiocy strikes again

Back to back doubles then a 2 run homer. 4-3 DBacks now.

How many times have we got killed in the 7th inning because our starter ran out of gas and was left dangling in the wind by Luvollo?

Walker was up to 99 pitches through six innings and ran the bases in the top of the 7th.

I said, "Time to take him out, he's going to get tagged." And sure enough, he gets tagged, for three runs. Two doubles and a HR.

Torey and his damn obsession with starting pitchers having to go seven innings no matter what. It doesn't help the confidence of his starters.

Not a smart move by Torey. Handed SF 3 runs.

Ok just wanted to make sure.

This is pretty much exactly how my Pop described gm 2 to me. Said Walker was at 100pitches (99) and it was clear he was done yet TL left him out there and he gave up 2 doubles and a HR.

TL has obviously done some good things this year, but baseball is a dynamic game. You cant play it on paper. You have to, you know, WATCH the game and have a feel for when your pitchers are struggling not just stick to arbitrary numbers that sound good in soundbytes and look great as quotes.

I realized the Dbacks yet again left a crapload on base and all that, but if we win gm2 it doesn't matter much, we still win the series. Sounds like TL gave this one away plain and simple.

PS just watched TL's postgame presser. Good lord am I tired of hearing about how "tired" the bullpen is. You're professional pitchers, go pitch. TL just using that as an excuse to deflect.
