moehlers first start in a while going for nolasco who has seemed to show some wear as the season has gone on

seems these teams may be going in different directions - I like the marlins matchups in general this series, but moehler could have a bad outing and strain the pen for the rest of the games - so tommorrow's game makes me nervous

These teams ARE going in different directions, have been for weeks. Every team has a better matchup against us, except for when some guy named Webb pitches

yep - was glad to not see webb or livan on this trip (livan always shows up against the fish in miami)

looks like moehler needed 4 runs to shake off the rust and gonzalez seems to be dealing fairly well - hopefully the second time through will be better for the fish

Why inthe world is Counsell playing> Is Drew still hurt? Also, why did they bring up Montero if he is going to sit on the bench? He could be helping the Sidewinders in their playoff series against Salt Lake City.

Drew is still struggling with his hand. He could have played but the team wants him to rest it when possible.

You can play this horrible because you're not a good team.

Face it, the Dbacks were only a "playoff contender" because the rest of the NL is awful. But this team is not a legit playoff contender, they haven't been all year. What they are is a mediocre ball club with a below average manager. Put those two together, and you get what you see.

Valverde, back as closer with 3 K's and 1 BB in the ninth.

His stint at Tucson produced good results in regaining his confidence and swagger.

What's the name of the Manager there? Oh yeah, Chip Hale. :)

Same old story. Papa Fatso starts out year well coming out of spring training when he's forced to get in shape. A month of living the high life and getting a nice food per diem gets some pounds on him and Valverde starts getting rocked. Goes back tothe minors and gets back in shape due to less money and horrible minor league food and comes back and finshes the year strong.

And we should have traded Julio as I suggested when we had the chance and he briefly got back in shape. His weight problems are Papa Grande-esque only Julio's ten years older and gets much fatter.

Great pitching by Anibal Sanchez combined with horrific AB after horrific AB leads to a no hitter.

Seriously does anyone on this team have any idea what GD strike zone is?

Congrats to Sanchez though

Wow.

The season has now come to a crashing end - - we just let a rookie pitcher throw a NO-HITTER against us!!

Get the vets off the field and bring up the rest of the yoots!!

wow - my man anibal sanchez comes up with a no-no

as always there was some good defense involved

hope the marlins can get some punch back for the phillies - but it's amazing what these pitchers have done this year - two rookies with ERAs under 3

The only vets on the field were O-dogg, Gonzo and Byrnes.

Sorry, I meant to say "get the remaining vets off the field!" ;)

What sucks is that our record is what most of us thought it would be (sub .500), yet we are capable of so much more! Would one true power hitter in our lineup make that much offensive difference?
