I think they may have finally cracked the Superman code in this new era of gritty superhero movies. And even thought he soundtrack isn't the classic music we associate with Superman, I am really digging it.

Wow. I originally didn't think much of this movie, not with the bad taste of the last movie and Zach Snyder being the director, but that looked pretty damn good.

Looks like a Superman 1 and 2 plot splice (of sorts). That's ok, as long as it's done well. If the trailer is a valid measuring stick, it appears to be done VERY well.

I'm still a Marvel movie guy though. as has been pointed out previously, they keep an element of fun/humor in the mix, with the exceptions of Spidey 3 and the Spidey reboot. I suspect there is little or none of that in this movie (like the latest Batman flicks).

I'll definitely see it.

Even if it ends up sucking as a movie, the effects look pretty spectacular....

Just got back and I must say that the 3D is pretty amazing. I also loved the story and how they tried to take a different approach to it. Michael Shannon as General Zod was a great choice.

I was going to catch it this morning, but those plans fell through. Planning tomorrow morning now.

Trust me, once I see it I'll post my thoughts...jackass! :D

Saw it a couple hours ago. It had a ton of potential but fell short. Thought it was just Ok.

It was incredibly fun and enjoyable, but I agree it fell short of expectations. I will watch it again on DVD, so it was pretty good, but it was also full of more plot holes than Swiss cheese.

Movie was good but definitely not great. Notch below Iron Man 3 for sure and not even close to Avengers. Having said that Henry Cavill was born to play Superman. He was a great casting decision. Overall pretty good cast. However, the writing was disappointing and Zach Snyder cares more about never ending action sequences versus putting a coherent scene together which is evident in this movie.

If they want this franchise to live up to it's potential the writing and especially the directing need an upgrade.

that's too bad...and don't expect it from next one where Goyer and Snyder have already been locked up to write and direct...and that's probably gonna be with Nolan taking a big step back producing wise (and apparently he didn't have that much of a role outside of coming up with the Story for this one).
