I really like Fox. I would take him at 4-6 if we drop in the lottery. Here's what I like:

1. Incredible athleticism - everyone knew he was not going to shoot from outside and he still consistently got to the basket at will.
2. probably the best defensive point guard of the three top PGs in the draft
3. In the biggest game, he hounded Lonzo Ball. I still like Ball but he brought his best and had the better game.

Honestly, if we were picking three, i would have to think about drafting Jackson and then trading Bledsoe for a top pick in the bottom of the top 10 and picking Fox.

I like the thought but I think Fox will go in the top 5. However, if he falls the Suns should do whatever it takes to get another draft pick to get him. IMO, Fox could go as early as top 4.

The Suns have to be cautious though. Fox is a really good prospect. Nothing more.

Everyone is quick to assume that all of these PG prospects are better than a near all star PG.

Fox looks good on paper, but his lack of a reliable jumper is a huge concern.

Fox lack of jumpers is more like Westbrook/Rose lack of jumper. Not a Rondo situation. He is also the best free throw shooter among the point guards.

I'm only taking a shot at fox at 5, if we swing a trade to get both philly picks.

I.e. we get 1, philly gets 3 and 5, they want fultz... I'll consider that trade to take jackson (who i may even take at 1) and fox at 5. I think it would be a huge dissapointment if you do this whole tank season and all you get is fox.

Well we tanked a whole season and got Len at 5 so in comparison to that Fox is a alright pickup.

If we're drafting a PG in the draft, I want it to be someone who can shoot 3s. If not, let's just ride it out with Bledsoe & Ulis.

No need to add another non 3pt shooting PG to Bledsoe/Ulis/Price

My thoughts are the Suns would prefer to draft a forward and the top two on the list are Jackson and Tatum. I think Jackson would be worth a top 3 pick but I waiver after that. I don't think Tatum has a high ceiling.

Fox is exciting no doubt but are the Suns willing to draft a PG?

My thoughts are draft BPA even if it is a PG and let the chips fall where they may.

However, I have to think McDonough might have PG fever having dealt with the likes of Dragic, IT and Knight. Drafting Jackson might feel like a blessing if it happens. I hope the Suns get the first pick so they have their choice.
If the Suns get the first pick and take Fox over Faultz/Jackson/Ball then we will be the punchline for all of summer from the media and other fans. Of course Fox may prove himself right once the season starts but drafting him 1st overall would definitely make for a brutal off season.

I don't think drafting Fox number 1 is the right strategy unless the Suns absolutely love him. If so, then you draft him and forget about what the media thinks. If the Suns should get the first pick, I definitely would consider a trade-down for the likes of Jackson or Fox.

However, who knows who the Suns like.

Man I love this kid, aside from simply basketball I find him to be one of the more charismatic players in the draft.

I think he is the safest pick in the draft almost. His floor is Elfrid Payton. If you could guarantee me that he will extend his range to be a servicable 3pt shooter I'd say his floor is as high as Mike Conley.

Elite tier 1 athlete, high motor, defender, bright kid - no way he will bust.

The only PG I want is Fultz. If the ping pong balls stink, the Suns need to trade down.

Thats all any of these players are. Id say Fultz is the only polished guy in the entire draft.

Thats why the NBA stinks. They need to get rid of the 1 and done rule in college. These freshman, taken top 10, are trash because 1 year ago they were high schoolers, how on earth can you expect them to compete vs Lebron James?

100% they should institute a 3 year rule. It would vastly improve the NBA product.

Everyone would love it. Colleges would love it because they get players longer. The NBA would love it because they can evaluate player longer and have less risk when they draft. It also means they control more of their prime years contract wise.

The people who would not love it would be the players.

A 20 year old age limit might be good. Then players can decide whether to play college or sign with an D league team to show off their stuff for two years. Make the predraft pro play one year contracts only and they can enter the draft at 20.

Who cares what the players want. Its in their best interest to install the rule.

Nobody is campaigning to remove the rule for NFL prospects. Those kids go to college, grow, learn, mature both mentally and physically and come into the league much more prepared.

Some of these players are ready to play in the NBA after 1 year in college, e.g., Devin Booker.

If these players are deprived of the right to play, it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. It's like telling a 18 or 19 year old they can't work.

Also it might start pushing some to Europe.

Nope, just pointing out the hypocrisy.

There is no hypocrisy.

The vast majority of the kids lives and careers would be significantly improved by installing this rule for the fact they would enter the NBA much better prepared, and thus have a better chance of making a career in the NBA. Rather than most who fall off and have to work at Rent-A-Car.

Whats Lebron James suppose to prove? That 1% of kids will go on to be superstars?

May as well say Aids isnt a big deal because Magic Johnson is doing fine.

Actually the rule is an NBA rule not a college rule and the NBA won't change it anytime soon because they want a free year to evaluate kids but they don't want to wait 3 years for the really good ones.

I think the one and done is harming college but I don't think it's harming the NBA.

The NBA has the same problem most of basketball has IMO, the "grassroots" system sucks. AAU ball is terrible basketball, they play so much they teach kids to not hate losing. Most of these kids now consider AAU ball vastly more important than HS ball so we get worse fundamentals every year.
