In a van...down by the river.
I would hate any rent a player deal that wouldn't include youg talent in return. Your not going to get a great pick from Houston. If you bring in Artest, you had better resign the guy long term.
That would be "my" plan.
Hill will likely retire and Barnes' future here is obviously in question so i'd love to see Ron Ron re-signed to pair with Barbs,JRich,Lou etc...
Also IMO Landry is underrated and underutilized in Houston playing alongside Ming.
Just sayin'.

Amare,Amundson,Tucker,Dudley for Thomas, Noah, Gooden, Hunter and their First.

I could live with that. It's quantity for quality, the only question is can the Suns utilize that depth or would it be wasted..

Shaq/Noah/Lopez
Thomas/Gooden
Hill/Barnes
Richardson/Barbosa
Nash/Hunter/Dragic

Then we would add our first rounder, Chicago's first rounder, our second rounder, Orlando's second rounder and Golden State's 2nd rounter in the draft and Gooden to a role player deal.

They mentioned Larry Hughes again, that doesn't make any sense unless they are working on multi team deal. We are loaded at 2 and 3, Larry Hughes is completely usless for us, and his contract is 13M with 1 more seaon left.

For me, Gentry and the returning of up-tempo system is a clear indication that Amare will stay.

Bulls Watching Camby And Kaman
The Bulls, meanwhile, continue to debate the pros and cons of Amare Stoudemire. According to NBA sources, they also are monitoring the Clippers' situation to see if Chris Kaman or Marcus Camby can be pried loose.

Two league executives said Sunday it appears less likely Stoudemire will become a Bull, if he is traded at all. -- Chicago Tribune

This should be really fun. As a Bulls fan, I would rather get Kaman for Noah and Gooden or Camby for Gooden and filler plus first and and keep Thomas. I think he is on the verge doing some great stuff. Plus, the more I hear about Amare, the less I want him in a Bulls uniform.

Stoudemire is obviously not the one who should be moved if at all possible.

If you can get a legit defensive big man he should be. If your going to get crap and salary relief only...I agree.

It seems like everyone is low balling PHX right now because they feel Sarver will panic as the dealine gets closer and do something stupid like take one of the ridiculous deals, I am worried.

POR took out Aldridge in their offer, leaving LaFrentz's contract, Bayless and a 1st round pick on the table.

CHI looks to only be offering Gooden & their 1st rounder and don't look interested in trading Thomas now.

We need to just keep Amare. No sense in doing a dumb trade when you know you are getting screwed.

I honestly think, they may NOT be trading Amare with the coaching change. If you think the coaching is not a problem, but players are, then trade Amare. If you think coaching IS the problem, then you make a coaching change and see what happens with the players you've got. I almost think they won't try and trade Amare until after the season.

Where did you hear that? The contracts do not match and since it would put the Bulls over the cap, it could not happen. Last report was this.

One source close to the situation maintains that the Suns have a standing offer from the Bulls for Stoudemire that would definitely deliver blossoming forward Tyrus Thomas and Drew Gooden's $7.2 million expiring contract. The Suns like those two pieces. A lot.

Unclear is how much more Chicago would be willing to put into the deal.

Joakim Noah? Thabo Sefalosha? A first-round pick?

OK, reading between the lines it sounds like:

  • The Bulls have an offer on the table that tilts in their favor.
  • The Suns want more.
  • The Suns say, "Never mind, we'll just keep Amare."
  • The Bulls say, "Fine, we'll go after Camby or Kaman."
Sounds like a game of Chicken. My money's on Sarver to blink first.
If I was Paxson I'd bank on Sarver wanting to dump Amare's salary. Every time he makes a move it reeks of desperation.

So basically the Suns do not want a MAX player at PF...
I mean they can just deal with Raptors directly.

The way it is looking...
They want several "mid" salary players... (10~14 Million) rather than a 20 Million player at one spot... in which Stoudemire and Bosh are..

Pistons did this.. and it worked...

The coach changing doesn't solve financial problem, instead, it costed the organization a couple of million. So if Sarver wants the payroll down, there is going to be a trade. We'll see in 3 days.

that's what I am saying. Why would amar'e still be on the block if they weren't done thinking about it. They still need that money so why would they take him off after they just lost some? It is less likely for him to be traded but it isn't for sure that he is staying.
