!. Warner IS completing a very high percentage of his passes even with the uncharacteristic drops by Q and Fitz.

2. Atlanta is going to be desperate Sunday after losing the Monday nighter in the Big Easy. I really don't want to throw Leinart into that. The veteran Warner will have all he can handle. (Denny didn't know this obviously Monday when the false ESPN story by Mortensen circulated.)

3. It gives Warner a final opportunity to reduce the turnovers and redeem his career, without forcing Leinart into the fire prematurely.

4. It indicates to the veteran players like Griffin, that Denny is not giving up on the season.

I'm as upset as the next guy about Warner costing the Cardinals the game Sunday. However, there are plenty of 1-2 teams out there with playoff aspirations who are just as upset as Cardinal fans. (See the Giants and Panthers, or even the Steelers. ) For that matter, look at the struggling Dolphins and Dante Culpepper.

And to think i wanted Culpepper in here very badly. He has been absolutely terrible. How can you only put up 13 on the Titans and 6 on a Buffalo defense starting 4 rookies.

This is the part I don't get, why is 2-1 Atlanta going to be desperate coming off a loss to an unbeaten team, and 1-2 Arizona won't be even MORE desperate coming off a loss as awful as ours was?

Atlanta has a good defense I'll concede that just under 11 PPG so far this year, but the key in this game is it's a road game and we traditionally don't play well on the road. This stuff about Atlanta being fired up because of the Monday game is silly and why ESPN keeps insisting that had something to do with the change of heart I don't get. Especially since we don't really know if there was a change of heart or if they simply ran with a false rumor in the first place?

Is everything
For anybody who thinks there won't be interest in Warner next season.......

--------------------------------------------
Vinny Testaverde was in Foxboro yesterday for a workout and visit with Patriots officials. The fact the Pats felt the need to get a firsthand look at him, and likely give him a physical, means their interest is beyond cursory.

This is my opinion:

I think GD fired a huge warning shot across Kurt Warner's bow on Monday. He also placed Leinart on notice that he needs to prepare as if he is the starter, because there is a very good chance of his playing in Atlanta.

Personally, I think that Kurt is done in Arizona, and that the game in Atlanta could be titled "Dead Man Walking". The Atlanta defense is going to eat him alive because there is no way that they won't see the same things on the game films that I am seeing: after the 10th hit on Warner, he falls apart.

The only way we win this game is for us to score 21 points in the first quarter and then have James run out the clock for the final 3 quarters. If at the end of the game we need the ball in Warner's hands to win, we are in a lot trouble.

i believe warner is going to come back from that horrible game againist the rams. warner is 6-0 againist the falcons and there is no reason other wise that his streak won't continue. the falcons are not the only ones who want to bounce back from a poor performance. the cardinals are in the same boat as the falcons. i expect a good game and the cardinals will come out on top being led by kurt warner.

Cbus:

Here's how bad Culpepper has looked: Some Miami fans are calling for Joey Harrington to start. Oh, the horror.

IMO Kurt will come back strong in this game and retake control over the QB situation this year, Everyone knew before the season that one mistake would start a QB battle with the team and the media. The birds are circling the body and are waiting to eat on the skin of Warner. But he aint dead yet.

Its just funny to read the Warner should start, or the Denny is right to start Warner. Combine them and lets go on.

Absolutely right: Warner should start. I'm only surprised that Green realized it. When he gets angry, someone usually gets canned...and usually without any consideration of whether the team suffers from it.

Please. No coach operates like that, even a bad one. And Green is a good one.
