I hope they show the FBI interview this weekend. It'll be interesting to see how he gets out of that with what will be a lousy alibi.

I'm also curious at how they will approach the Dexter/Quinn matchup now. We've seen that with Doakes (my favorite season) and I hope they don't follow that road. Granted the only place they have left to explore is Dexter killing anybody (as seen in ep 1) and what would happen is Deb found out who he is.

Didn't love the episode but I guess after the intense finale there was bound to be a letdown.

But, it was solid in moving the story along and yeah, I can't wait to see that FBI interrogation.

i was pretty underwhelmed by the first episode. Quinn's just a character that I don't give two ***** about. If they're going down the Doakes road, ain't no way he's gonna pull it off. And the Laguerta/Angel thing bores me to tears also.

LOVED the last five minutes though. Hopefully the season improves from here.

Agree. Quinn, aside from the dude being a mediocre actor, is just not that important. He doesn't feel like he can be the nemesis type. I mean, I am all for Dexter killing him, but the lead up had better be good.

Overall the whole episode seemed uncomfortable, but I think that works because it helps portray the difficulty Dexter has in relating to what's going on around him.

Up to episode 7 season 1, this show just keeps getting more disturbed, I like it.

This is not my type of show. I'm much more of a Mary Poppins kind of guy than I am a Breaking Bad kind of guy. Still, I consider Dexter season 1 to be one of the best TV shows ever.

You have me scratching my head. Those two have been a rather large part of this show since the beginning. Why would it change now?

This show was bound to be a let down and start off slow after last seasons ending IMO.

I'm betting it picks up as it moves further into the season.

Started season 2, was a bit disappointed with the Rescue Me style dead brother hanging around. But he went away, now there is some Amy winehouse type that is dexters sponsor. I hope Rita kicks her ass!

It's changed because they're story-line is beyond boring. I don't care about their marriage. They've been a rather large part of the show in the past because they were involved in the investigations/office politics/or calming Doakes... all as elements of the main story. Now they have a sub-plot that is boring me to tears.

Really enjoyed this weeks episode. Not easy going for Dexter on that kill.

yeah, this was the first real solid episode of the season and it seems like now we're going to get into the meat of the long-season arc... what does Dex do with the cliffhanger and how does that relationship change him? That's what's been missing most of this season. Every season so far has been about Dexter making a relationship with someone (Ice Truck Brother, The Pyro, Smits, Lithgow)... it's refreshing that it's likely NOT going to be another psycho that we watch him meet, become engrossed in their relationship and then ultimately have to kill. that pattern was getting a little predictable.

We will see where this goes.... I like the idea.... But really am unsure how they are going to pull it off.

I haven't been pulled in like I had in the last few seasons. Probably because last season was so good to me.

When I saw the eyes looking through that door at the end, it was the first time I was engrossed.

A better question is how did she get an acting job? She's homely AND she can't act; that combination is usually a deal breaker in show biz. She doesn't even possess the 2 magical talents that have saved the careers of a few top heavy actresses.

And why did they have to do Rita like that? :p

She's always been disposable. I haven't followed her career or anything but just off the top of my head I've watched her die in Buffy, Roswell, Angel and now Dexter. Next, I figure Chiklis will accidentally smother her.

Granted there has to be some form of the suspension of disbelief, but how many detectives need to accuse Dexter of murder before some form of suspicion develops over the guy?

Secondly, his constant use of law enforcement databases to search victims and find clues would seem to lead to suspicion on the guy anyway. I work in a casino environment and monthly there is a review of user access, user listings, and user activity to determine if suspicious activity is occurring. Our computer system logs every time you log in, where you logged in from, and what you looked at or edited.

This season is not nearly as good as last season, but it's still one of the best shows on television.

Speaks volumes to how good last season really was.

Season has gotten better the last two episodes. Still not anywhere near last season though.

With the weird twist.... I am wondering where this will go.
