I'll just say it... this season hasn't been good. I'm watching just because I'm used to watching, but none of it feels right. Quinn just sucks and him on Dexter's trail is lame... the whole thing with the beheading serial killers... blegh... Laguerta and Angel, boring me to tears and Dexter's hunt for Lumen's rapists/murderers... just whatever.

don't fool yourselves... it's not just a let down from last season. The first four seasons of this show were AMAZINGLY GOOD TV... this is mediocre at best IMO.

I've given up on the show. I'd rather remember the excellence of the early years. Maybe it will bounce back and maybe I'll return to the Dexter fold but I just don't see that happening.

I don't blame you. They changed show-runners for this season and it's PAINFULLY OBVIOUS. This show is nothing close to previous season's. Every episode the previous years seemed to end on a note where I couldn't wait to see what happened next week. Now? Who cares. It's just one more thing to watch when I break for lunch. blegh.

I still enjoy it. About the only character I don't like is Quinn.

you're a moron.

nice avatar though. think she can play QB? She may not be able to throw, but she'd look a hell of a lot better than anyone else we're throwing out there at that position.

I'm with you there. But this is byfar the least enjoyable and lowest quality season they put out.

Granted there is not much new ground they can cover. All they have left is Deb finding out or Dexter getting caught.

I was listening to a podcast with John Lithgow this morning (Doug Loves Movies) and he says that during the last season there was a big fight (Lithgow says stuff being thrown into walls) on whether or not Trinity should have survived for 4-5 episodes into this season. I think I would have preferred that instead of what we are getting now which is a more pitiful Jimmy Smits and Doakes season.

Someone tell me Angel and LaGuerta get whacked by Dexter soon. If he doesn't do it, I might have to. POINTLESS. They were irritating last season.

I agree this season has been subpar. The whole Dexter's partner theme has already been done. Coworker looking into Dexter has already been done too. And I really dislike Lumen's character. The show is getting repetitive.

It seems to me that the end of last season totally set Debra up to learn about Dexter and maybe come to accept it. I figured she'd spend a season crying and being really annoying, and then somehow find a peace with it. I also guessed this would be the last year, Dexter would die some ironic death (brain cancer or something), and Debra would take over teaching Dexter's son how to be control his own "born in blood" nightmares.

I don't expect to really guess how a season will go, but it's the first time where I feel I had a better handle on the character trajectories than the way the went. None of it really feels like how it really would've happened. I think they've assumed too much audience investment into side characters. Does anyone really care about Angel or Laguerta? I never found these characters sympathetic. Angel was sort of cool, but only in the way he's been friends with the Morgans. By himself he's just another detective. Stereotypical family drama. Yawn. Laguerta's a politician, and not even a good one like one from The Wire.

Just really disappointed. Glad I'm not the only one who agrees. I didn't want to be accused of pissing on another show again.

exactly right on the been there done that with Dexter having a partner and Dex being investigated by one of his own. Just lame... and boring... and not even close to as well done with pitiful characters.

I mean... what happens with Quinn? I'm guessing end of season, he knows, Dexter going to kill him, but before he does, Quinn somehow gets a chance via letter or something to let Deb know who Dexter is and that's the big cliffhanger at the end of the season... and if it's not, well... then this show REALLY sucks because the show has lost it's way and is begging to be put out of it's misery, so next year should be the year where Deb knows and ultimately has to put Dexter down. Seems like the only way to end the series and I think ultimately, he probably has to die... or be incarcerated.

I don't know... but Lithgow, Smits, the ridiculously crazy hot pyro/Doakes from season 2, brother/sister story lines just ALL blow what's going on this season away.

also... it seems like they just flew away from Rita's death and the effect it had on Dexter.

just a big ball of meh this season.

Huff..... I sorta agree.

And I am really with you cheese... Deb will find out at the end of the season. I think she might stumble upon him killing Quinn....

Hopefully this season isn't just a big journey to that revelation.

ok, i'll just say it... this show sucks now. Dexter's "path" this season is boring me to tears and LaGuerta screwing over Deb is just conflict for conflict's sake. LAME.

Add to it Julia Styles' mushed face and you got a real stinker. I'm only watching now because I feel I have to.

I think it's still a great show. Loved the ending of the most recent episode (Teenage Wasteland).

I am fine with everything going on this season if it does lead to the huge "deb finds out" storyline. Man could that be huge. Maybe he kills her? etc.... Lives the code..... Could be the pinnacle of awesome.

The only thing that can explain this season is if half the writing staff is already writing next season. After this season, it might be the last chance they get.

actually, the only thing that can explain this season is what actually happened in the writer's room... which was the show-runner left and a lot of the staff changed. it's SO obvious.

The least 2 episodes have been great IMO. Very tense moments. Still though, this has been my least favorite season.

The show hasn't blown up yet. There's still time to get back on track next season. The characters are in place and well developed to turn up the right kind of tension again. I have hope.

i've said it once, I'll say it again... the only way this season is redeemed is if Deb thinks Dexter's involved at the end of the season.

Otherwise, the season has not only been horrendous but a huge waste of time.

I mean... that scene between Quinn and Deb when they were one on one? And the big bad... he's just awful.
