i've said it once, I'll say it again... the only way this season is redeemed is if Deb thinks Dexter's involved at the end of the season.

Otherwise, the season has not only been horrendous but a huge waste of time.

I mean... that scene between Quinn and Deb when they were one on one? And the big bad... he's just awful.

Yeah, season feels very transitional and the only way to make a worthwhile transition is the cliffhanger of Deb finding out. The teaser of the finale episode give that impression, but those always seem to lie through editing.

The one good thing about the ending is that Lumen is gone. Couple that with the fact that nothing really changed in the end (Deb never found out), and maybe we can all pretend this season never happened. I hope they get better writers though.

Two things in particular that bothered me about this "ending". How exactly has the barrel girl case been solved? All suspects are still missing or dead including Jordan Chase who is now missing. The suspects in the deaths of those men have also not been found. The only thing that changed is that Deb uncovered the place where all the rapes took place. How is that solving the case?

And then there's Liddy's murder. So Quinn is no longer a suspect because Dexter faked the blood work so that it did not match. Great, but what about all the phone calls and finger prints that Quinn left on the van?

I wonder if the writers were ordered to tie up loose ends so they could literally start fresh, like a Dexter mulligan.

Also, what about the car he used to get to Lumen? Wouldn't his DNA be all over that car? Wouldn't that car have been reported stolen from a parking lot that is a block away from the crime scene he was just at? What car did they use to move the body? Too many loose ends.

better question.. why didn't he just kill Lumen and Dexter? It's not even like we found out what his plan was to lure Dexter to him. Was it to kill him? If so, why not just blow his head off the second he crawled out of the car.

I mean, there's dumb and then there's just ********. This whole season, with Deb almost catching Dexter TWICE was beyond stupid.

Deb not finding out was a huge let down. Plus where are they planning to take this next season with Alister and Cody now being around again?

you gotta give the department a break. I mean, as a whole, they're kinda the most inept police department of all time. after all, they've got the biggest serial killer of ALL TIME sitting in the room next to him... two of their best detectives suspected him of being the biggest serial killer of all time... and yet, they still have NO CLUE they're sitting right next to him!

I mean, do the writers even realize how inept they continue making everyone but Dexter look?

And then there's Liddy's murder. So Quinn is no longer a suspect because Dexter faked the blood work so that it did not match. Great, but what about all the phone calls and finger prints that Quinn left on the van?

like I said, they've got the biggest serial killer of all time living amongst them and they've got no clue. why would they bother with any of the above. after all, the blood cleared him!

Blah season.

Some gripping moments, but in the end. I wish Deb found out about Dexter as a cliffhanger.

And letting Quinn come back just means more crap next season with him.

Well, at least their department is better at detective work than the CTU was at internal security. OTOH, they don't have Jack Bauer to bail them out so they have to be a little better.

I stopped watching after about 5 episodes. The season seemed rushed. Maybe they were unsure with Hall's(Dexter) cancer, I dunno.

I wonder how the separation and divorce of Michael C. Hall (Dexter) and Jennifer Carpenter (Debra) could affect the future of the show. Hopefully they can still act together.

Michael C. Hall's wife, co-star, files for divorce

Court records in Los Angeles show Carpenter filed for divorce Thursday after less than two years of marriage.

Both star in Showtime's hit show "Dexter," playing brother and sister.

She cited irreconcilable differences and is seeking spousal support from Hall. They were married on Dec. 31, 2008, and have no children together.

KISS my butt you bleeding heart freak!

I don't care if he humped your sister while your parents watched! You make a ton of money too!!!!

As far as the show's impact..... I would love to see the hatred if she finds out about him killing people.

they've been married TWO years, they have NO children, she's a well accomplished actress and she wants spousal support? Good lord.

I don't blame her. Series is about over. Hall will find premium work, but who the hell would want to hire her? She grates on my nerves and more than once I've wanted to see her killed off. I don't think that's her acting skills, either.

Definitely the weakest of the seasons, but still my favorite show on TV. (By far.) Shows how good this show really is.

wow I thought season 4 was really boring for awhile. I got very tired of Dexter trying to catch Trinity. But the season ending episode was a mind blower. I went to bed and couldnt stop thinking about it.

And she's in that new movie with either Vin Diesel or the Rock, I forget.

I would usually agree with your ******* comment, but if the reports that he had an affair with Julia "don't call me wall-face" Styles, then he is an idiot and deserves it. Seriously, Jennifer Carpenter is no bombshell, but come on.

Could care less if he had affair. It's irrelevant to spousal support.

I agree. The whole situation could have been avoided, and the system we have in place allows her to do this to him. Not right, but avoidable.

On a side note, the whole Quinn as a suspect thing seemed rushed. I think they could have made that more interesting. Not as excited about next season as I was for this one.
