2-0 in the 5th. Byrnes still sucking it up. I swear, when he goes up to bat, the temperature in Phoenix drops about 30 degrees hes so cold.

What does he have to do to make Melvin sit him for a few games?

Ive seen some bad slumps, but Byrnes is just handling this as poor as anyone

Qualls is pitching again. Chad's arm is going to fall off if Melvin continues to pitch him almost every game. Brings back memories of Brenly destroying Villareal's career.

Our Bullpen, Byrnes, and Reynolds are on some serious ice cold slumps

Carlos Quentin just hit a grand slam homer and has five rbi's tonight. He leads the AL in home runs.

i loved carlos, but someone needed to go. obviously looking back we would take carlos now, but he did about what byrnes is doing now for us...

He was hurt and he is much younger than Byrnes. Carlos is more talented than Byrnes and has hit every where he has played. They should of never given up on him so fast for a career 265 hitter.

We got lucky tonight. 12 hits and 12 LOB for the Rockies and we still managed to win. <phew>

you dont need to argue with me, i loved carlos...but

casual fans love byrnes, thats just a fact.

byrnes is one of the veteran leaders on this team, and the team seems to like him.
and we resigned byrnes when he was playing well, and once we did that we were stuck, but the dbacks front office is AWESOME imo, so ill give them one slip up, especially when that cost us....oh wait, we have the best record in the majors.

The difference between Qualls and Villareal is that Qualls has pitched 82, 88, and 79 innings the last three seasons. He's used to the load.

Although I am confident Qualls can handle the load, it would be nice if he got a break every once in a while. Let a starter go 7 to 8 innings if hes pitching well or bring in Cruz in the 7th.

I just pray Byrnes doesn't come up to bat with the bases loaded again anytime soon

This team flat out give Webb run support. I'd love to see where he ranks in the league in that statistic

UGH

No kidding.

Wife and I went to the game yesterday. That was hard to watch - TWICE.

At least he got a run across on the double play ball. It still sucked though because there were no outs at that point. It might have been better for him to strike out or pop up - and save an out.

BTW: There were not 23,000 people in attendance even though that was reported. It's amazing how no one goes to the games.
