hey this Didi Gregorius kid looks pretty good so far

Just about to transition to that. Love me some Didi. If he keeps this up, Goldy may have some competition for TJ's favorite D-Back :D

Thumb injury. And the constant talk of being traded. Upton the year before was being talked about as a MPV candidate.
Kendrick never rescinded his comment about Upton, just as he never did about Drew.

What would have been different about his "kiss of death" with Upton this season or until a better trade could have come along? The longer time went on, the more Major League GM's would have had the D'backs backed into a corner.

The "constant talk of being traded" is hardly a prediction that Upton would have been a different player for the D'backs this year.

And as far as his thumb, his 107 runs scored last year hardly explain his disappointing 67 RBI's. He delivered a leadoff hitter's stat in the heart of the batting order all right, but not a clutch hitter's stat. You can't blame that on the thumb.

I'm with you on this one, I would take the same Upton trade all over again. To the people complaining about the trade, did you actually follow the DBacks games throughout his career here? Because I did, and I really don't miss him. At all. I remember when he made his MLB debut, I was so pumped up for his future here.. Then a few months went by, and he started slamming bats, throwing helmets across the field, show boating homeruns, and playing LAZY defense.

He had over 20 homeruns twice, never had 100 RBIs and batted .300 once...

Just cognitive dissonance by Diamondback fans trying to convince each other that somehow he isn't that good. LOL

That's absurd, to me it sounds like he's still the played he was SUPPOSED to be in your head.

Finally, to the people saying "omg but look at the numbers he's putting up in atlanta!" ... that's atlanta, we are arizona. do you really think he would have the same numbers here? no, because he was lazy. he didn't care. you could see it when he struck out or did anything bad, he had a classic "i don't give a $#@%" look on his face. you're trying to tell me the MEDIA is why he was playing bad? HAHA. get real.

So, for clarification, what you're trying to tell me is we fleeced the Braves in the deal?

not at all, but it isn't as bad as people around here are trying to make it. in the end it worked out for both sides. we didn't get fleeced either.

Of course it worked for us. Prado is tearing it up with a .239 AVG and a .292 OBP

Meanwhile, the "throw-in" in the deal, Chris Johnson, is hitting .397 with a .424 OBP for ATL.

Yep...undoubtedly worked for both sides.

I'll say it again. "Addition by subtraction." Upton in the heart of our batting order (whether 3rd or 5th) was HOLDING US BACK! He may not have been a cancer in the clubhouse, but he was on the field.

When we get our leadoff hitter and cleanup hitter and backup SS back from injury, we will see!
