Do Cards not pick a QB 1st round if....

QB is still, and will forever be the #1 priority in this draft


got to fight emotion and near sightedness. CP is playing good as of late, but Kolb did too for a stretch

Hes not Warner. We arent winning the SB with him. Hes not our QB for the next 10 years

this year we have a real shot at a young franchise QB that BA can mold into that SB type QB

I don't want a desperation QB pick {see Denny Green and Matt Leinart}. If the right guy is there, draft him. If not, draft best player available. Carson Palmer has shown enough that the Cardinals don't have to make a desperation pick IMO.

Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl for the Ravens. When you have a very good defense, you don't necessarily need a franchise quarterback. An above average quarterback who fits BA's offense can win, especially with all the weapons the Cardinals have surrounded him with.

CP's QB rating the last 4 games; 116, 93.4, 119, 114. The low was against the Texans who do have a pretty good pass D and overall D.

Is this just a lucky stretch or is CP getting a full grasp of the Offense and everyone is now getting on the same page? Based on interviews the Cards are saying it's the latter and I tend to agree.

If this is the case then for me it puts drafting a QB or bust in rd 1 in question. CP is young enough and has the work ethic to be a top notch QB in the NFL for 3 to 5 more years.

Let's see how the remainder of the season plays out but it's very hard to ignore what CP has done the past 4 games.

The following teams will be picking in front of us and could easily justify taking a QB:

Jacksonville
Houston
Minnesota
Tampa Bay (Glennon might convince them otherwise)
Oakland
Cleveland
Possibly (much less likely) St. Louis, NYJ, and Tennessee.

The Earth has moved and all we Card fans should be familiar with QB busts.

CP has BA's offense down pat now. Palmer is playing at a level that doesn't require a QB to be drafted for at least three years. Especially with Stanton as backup. That's quality QB play in depth. In Bruce I trust.
