In a van...down by the river.
I would if the offer was right. Fitz just isn't a game changing WR.

He is great. But not a game changer. Outside of the 2008 playoffs I cant think of many games the guy has just taken over and willed this team to wins. Can you?
Too bad you & i dont have a red telephone so we could make a deal. :)
I feel the same way about Steven Jackson as you seem to feel about Fitz.

I dunno! I wouldn't accept any nuts as part of a deal.

I don't think Larry has lost a step at all. I think its all on the Cards QBs this year.

I have seen many more plays with him running wide open and A. not getting the ball, or B. the ball was thrown horribly. I have seen him drop a couple, I haven't seen him "Moss" it out there at all.

IMO still a game changer big time with a QB around him.

I'm talking about the QB. I'm talking about being a game changer. Can you list some games for me in the last 7 tears other than the 2008 playoff run where Fitz just put this team on his back and got us the victory?

I just don't see that in him. Its his overall lack of speed. The fact that he doesn't really have that much and top that off with the fact that he is starting to drop balls he would normally catch makes me think it may just be time to explore letting him go. IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT mind you!

But to a division rival? I already voted I would trade for the right deal, but sending Larry to the Lambs would kill us. Larry's bigger games came with Warner and Boldin and others on the field. That was a while ago, but put him in the same type of offense and I see big games again.

So I am with you on him not being a game changer by himself, and we don't have the tools to do it like we use to.
But on a good solid offense, he can still do it like nobody can. (sorry I love the guy) :)

7 tears! LOL a perfect slip up to describe Cardinal football.

I'll bet I can find several. It will take me a while though so don't get impatient.

BTW: I don't think that looking at any one guy on a team that has only had two winning seasons since 1998 as a game changer, or how many games the team won or lost with him in or out of the lineup either, as why or why not he's expendable is a good idea.

You can't fault Fitz for not being a huge game changer in every game because he didn't need to with Breaston and Boldin also in the lineup and a QB who loves to spread the ball. I think his stats without Boldin during the Warner years tell all about his ability to change a game.

Even Jerry Rice would look like average with the QB's we've had throwing the ball (sans Warner who is conveniently being left out in this scenario).
I would make the trade even if we had Warner.

Correct.

ShaneH and Mulli would have been all for trading Kurt Warner after the Vikings game in 2008.

I can wait.

1. 2004 vs SF caught TD pass in 4th Q to put Cards up 28-12 and should have put the game away. Defense of course blew the lead in one of the most ridiculous collapses this side of the Bears/Cards Monday night game.

2. Caught TD pass in the 4th Quarter to beat Miami 24-23

3. Caught 34 yard TD pass in 4th Q vs Titans to seal the deal on 20-10 Cards win.

4. Yet another 4th Q TD reception to put game away vs Rams at 31-20

5. 9 Catches for 133 yards in Cards 34-27 win over 4anders

6. 4th Q TD catch vs Seattle to bring Cards from behind 17-21 to 24-21 and eventual 27-21 win.

That is a lot of big time 4th Q catches for a guy on a team that only won 16 games in those 3 years because they had an idiot for a HC.

I haven't even finished 2006 yet.

I am thinking those aren't the performances Shane was talking about. 4th quarter catches don't always equate to being unstoppable (like his performance in 2008.

Shane didn't say Fitz wasn't unstoppable. He said other than the playoffs Larry wasn't a game changer. He sure changed those games. And I haven't even gone into the 2007, 2008 or 2009 games.

And of course throwing out the playoffs is really being disingenuous because Pittsburgh changed their entire defensive strategy in the SB to stop Fitz and the minute they didn't he races into the end zone with the greatest TD in Cardinal history.

I guess that is open for debate.
